"The threatening letters, sent by good-for-nothing Assistant USAG Harmeet "I'll have the butter chicken" Dhillon, who is destroying DOJ's Civil Rights Division, demand that states explain within five days how they plan to comply with federal voter eligibility laws."

Non citizens can't vote in federal elections.

Problem solved.

The Trumpfists aren't done looting yet.
Plus there's that unresolved "You're sure my TrumpPardon covers all of it?" problem..
The regime is going to werk very hard to screw up these elections.
You know, because of the "communist emergency" or something.
And do not be so foolish as to look to a single Republican to lift a finger to save the republic.

The fascism gets more and more apparent, as he sees the end of the trail for his particular gang, and knows that if the midterms result in the Dems taking back Congress he is to be investigated and impeached once again. He will exert more and more pressure to try and make sure citizens in blue cities in blue states are too frightened to show up at the polls.

Hey lfthndcuck, pedoringer et al,

Where are your protests about the massive federal overreach and power grab on this one? Bogus criminal charges to skew elections is the definition of dictator and authoritarianism, but yet after puling about how the Dems were abusing power and were the antithesis of freedom, you go silent on this.

You know how we'll know you're fake patriots and couldn't care less about the constitution despite years of claiming to hold it in the highest regard? When you don't utter a peep about the obvious corrupt midterm elections that give Trump exactly the result he wants.

FWIW, the DOJ and other federal agencies sent threatening letters to people all the time.

After an uptick in grain elevator collapses, OSHA & the DOJ started threatening letters to the entire industry of grain elevator managers with threats of criminal prosecution if a workplace fatality occurs.

Not defending this at all and no doubt Trump supports this kind of bullying.....but "threats" are a normal way of doing business at the DOJ.

""Any election officer, including the chief election officer of the state, who knowingly retains noncitizens on the state's [state voter registration list] or facilitates noncitizens in receiving and casting ballots could be subject to criminal liability,""

-Totally not a "threat", simply pointing out that breaking the law is actually against the law.

"We encourage you to contact us to discuss what steps your state should take to maintain clean voter lists as required by law,"
-as required by law,"

fed: Do you maintain clean voter rolls as required by law?
leftist state: Yes.
fed: Can we see them?
leftist state: No.

-Surely we can trust avowed l3ftist election handlers, right?

So they are threatening to prosecute folks for breaking a law they are already following?

If they intend on pursuing bogus charges then no need to send a letter first. Just file them and giddy up.

The feds have no say or oversight over state election procedures. That's base Constitutional separation of powers, dumbf*&^.

So sending threats by letter is ok. If Trumpy or his minions do it.

When a citizen sends a "threatening letter" agents are sent to harass or even try and arrest that citizen.

Interesting how that works.

Citizens should never have to fear their government. Instead, the government should always fear the citizens' vote and their ability to demand justice.

This government is obviously afraid of their citizens' ability to vote and their potential ability to demand justice. As it should be.
