Oman has said positive talks have been taking place with Iran over an agreement to secure a shipping route through the Strait of Hormuz, as Tehran warned that any deal would not see an immediate reopening of the vital waterway.

Essentially, this is a replay of the spring and summer of 1940. America is Nazi Germany, Iran is England. Herr Drumpf, incredulous that Iran refuses to capitulate, has already issued fuhrerweisung #16. Iran has indicated that it will never capitulate a la Churchill in his May 28th (secret) and June 4th, 1940 speeches.
History repeats itself, with different actors assuming the same parts.

So, the least worst outcomes here whatever they may be are going to include Iran running the Straits where they weren't before, and apparently a more entrenched autocratic rwing government there.
Not to mention China and Russia both increasing influence in Mr Trump's Neighborhood in the ME, while making America look like Lewzers.

Trump has strengthened Iran, confirmed the US as a weak ally, and lost a war he started by attacking the nation with which the US was at the time conducting negotiations.
Of course, there's Trump, the idiot who gets full blame for this one.
But, truth be told, the heavily-armed, testosterone-fueled "warfighting" US military has not really "won" any of its big warfightin' wars since WW2 - and that with yuge help from the Brits, Chinese, and USSR.

Trump uses words as propaganda, he is not an expert in anything, certainly not war and its costs and outcomes. Trump has independently decided to take over the world's oil supply and somehow pocket a lot of the profits from its sale, and along the way, force gulf states to pay tribute to the US, forever linking us to the insanity of that part of the world. Talk about a forever war....

May I offer a correction?
"US has strengthened Iran, confirm[ing] the "the Buffoon" as a weak[, narcissistic and incompetent] ally ..."
