Former Republican Senator John Sununu accused President Donald Trump of abandoning his promise to "drain the swamp," claiming the president and his family now appear to be "in on every transaction or deal" in Washington, D.C. Sununu, who lost his bid to return to the Senate in New Hampshire in the midterms on Tuesday, blamed Trump's business dealings and ongoing military campaign against Iran for driving voters away from Republicans in the midterm elections. Speaking to former Ohio Governor John Kasich for the SiriusXM's The John Kasich Show, Sununu argued that the president had betrayed two central promises that helped return him to the White House, and this backfired on Republicans like him running for office. |
