When the IMF published its first quarter 2026 COFER data showing dollar reserves at central banks slipping below fifty-seven per cent, the usual think pieces followed. Riyadh diversifying. Delhi diversifying. Moscow gone. Beijing inching upward in renminbi-denominated swap agreements with countries that need cheap commodities and cannot afford diplomatic enemies. The conclusion writes itself, and it is wrong, or at least wrong in the only sense that matters operationally. Work by the New York Fed has already shown that the aggregate reserve decline is driven mostly by idiosyncratic exits rather than systemic flight.

Reserves are sovereign decisions, and sovereign decisions in 2026 are increasingly hostile to Washington. None of that touches the eurodollar pool, because the eurodollar pool is not a sovereign decision. They are not voting for America. They are voting against currency risk. The dollar happens to be on the other end of the trade.

When my father built a new family home in 1960, he included a bomb shelter.

No, not one of those above-ground concrete-block "radiation shelters," nosiree.

This one was buried beneath the ground, about 20', and my brothers and I loved it. You had to crawl down a ladder to get to the entrance. Then, it was a long, 8' tall "pipe," with bunk beds and everything! What a fantastic place to play for a kid!

But, regardless of the "fun," especially during a certain 13 days in October, 1962, when that fantastic place to play for a kid became a symbol of the fear we all felt, being one multi-megaton detonation away (at MacDill) and life as we knew it would evaporate.

And people that are justifiably angry about the Gaza genocide who want to destroy Israel because of the Likudnik crimes will harm innocent Jews who are against these outrages.

Jewish lawyers represent the Palestinians in court just as hard as our public defenders in the Legal Aid Society.

Wanting to destroy Israel would be like one sin heaped on top of another and a never-ending cycle of blood-thirsty vengeance and vendetta, just like we read in Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus.
