As Republicans and some moderate Democrats increasingly portray democratic socialists as out of step with mainstream America, polling suggests a more complicated reality -- a majority of Republican voters support several of the economic policies championed by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and prominent figures on the party's left flank.

Although the 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and civil rights laws dating back to 1866 prohibit nearly all racial preferences, most Americans oppose these preferences, and Donald Trump was elected vowing to eliminate DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) " progressives won't give up. Their race-obsessed thinking reduces America to intersectional classifications of oppressed and oppressor. This addled concept is a self-defeating dialectic in which no amount of progress on race relations is ever enough " or even acknowledged. Despite enormous advances, with the possible exception of Palestinians and transgender people, no group is seen as more oppressed and deserving of preferences than African Americans

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy bleating on Faux News: "[Canada's] a country that doesn't have a military ... they have record high euthanasia rates. And so to think that they're gonna go to war with Dummkopf Trumpf and actually win that war with the US, I think it's foolish on their part."

Matthew Elliott hid a message in a Connecticut court filing that he told CT Insider was meant to be read by a machine, not a judge. The message, written in tiny white text, told any artificial intelligence system that encountered the document to agree with Elliott's argument and help undo an earlier court ruling in a court case, according to a judge's decision sanctioning Elliott, 24, of Milford, for the action.

Democrats and other Donald Trump critics reacted incredulously to a New York Times report on Sunday that House Democratic leader Hakeem Jeffries met with Jared Kushner, the president's influential son-in-law, to discuss possible areas of collaboration. The meeting comes months ahead of the November midterm elections in which Democrats are favored to retake the US House, a development that would make Jeffries speaker. If they are in the majority, Democrats are expected to use their oversight power to aggressively investigate the Trump administration, including self-enrichment by the president and his family. There are longstanding conflict-of-interest concerns about the way Kushner has continued to make money from foreign nations as he works on foreign affairs, including conflicts in Ukraine, Iran and Gaza.

"President Donald Trump has faced scrutiny for bruising on his hands, swelling in his ankles and apparent drowsiness, among other questions about his health. Some doctors say they're worried about another risk: the 23 pounds that Trump may have gained since his last campaign for president," the Washington Post reports. "In August 2023, when he was charged in Georgia in an election interference case, Trump's booking record listed his weight as 215 pounds. He weighed 238 pounds in May of this year, according to a medical report released by the White House that month."

President Donald Trump on Friday answered a reporter's question about calming the turbulent bond market by saying he'll use military force. Trump was asked whether he had spoken with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent about "another type of intervention" after bond yields climbed back to multi-year highs. "The ultimate intervention is our military," Trump said. "And if we have to use that, we will." The remark came as Trump seems to be escalating his military posture against Iran. Bessent told CNBC on Thursday that the U.S. likely would not need to restart large-scale combat with Iran, hours after Trump declared "economic D-day" on the country.

Replicating the Israeli Death Forces (IDF) "double-tap" technique used against defenseless Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, Russia launched a drone attack on a busy Kiev mall, then immediately followed that up with a secondary strike to slaughter the emergency workers, killing 16 people and wounding 130 others in what Ukraine President Volodimir Zelensky described as a "cynical and despicable" attack.

Islamomisist US Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL): "Islamists are RIGGING our elections and planning their takeover of America. Radical Islamists have infiltrated every corner of our country. They are in our government, our schools, and our communities. They are moving forward with their plan to take over America. And unless you take a stand right now, they will be one step closer to eliminating our Constitution and replacing it with Sharia Law. The future of America is at stake."
