Trump's New Big Lie: 'I Know Nothing About Project 2025'

At 9:39 a.m. on the Friday of the July Fourth weekend, [Donald] Trump himself took to his Truth Social website to make a stunning claim. "I know nothing about Project 2025," the presumptive GOP nominee insisted. "I have no idea who is behind it. I disagree with some of the things they're saying and some of the things they're saying are absolutely ridiculous and abysmal. Anything they do, I wish them luck, but I have nothing to do with them." I wish Trump luck in getting a single person, on either side of the political divide, to believe that he knows nothing about Project 2025 yet somehow knows that he disagrees with most of it.

More

Indeed, this is Trump's 2024 version of the Big Lie, demoting his absurd debate statement that, contrary to his real-time boasts, "I didn't have sex with a porn star" to only his second-biggest falsehood of the summer.

A bunch of WV Trumpites at a bar I go to here, have no idea how much this
Project 2025 will change America. In general, I find your general GOP non-rich
Redneck to be remarkably ill informed.

They know Trumpanzee is a sock puppet just like Reagoonie tunes. The cl0wns had a field day with that one.

Stephen Miller is the latest Joseph Goebbels wanna-be, except for the bald pate, gut and Hebrew pedigree. In one version of the future he will be burned at the stake on the National Mall...

I love how the Pubs find stupidity and ignorance to be so acceptable in their politicians.
They constantly deliver the excuse of incompetence rather than malfeasance. And are okay with that.

That so true. I have a friend who dates my cousin and lives out in "the sticks". One of the towns around here we call "insert town name here"-tucky. He has known all these people for several decades and he totally antagonizes them at the bar. It's like 10 on 1 but he just keeps making points and they reply with fantasy. His favorite two the last couple years are "What did Trump and the GOP do for you?" and "How has Biden hurt you? Because I will tell you how he has helped you..." He has gone so far as to print things out for them and they refuse to accept what is in front of their face.

WV is a special kind of place these days. Correct me if I am wrong but in the hollers you have the people that work and seem to be all Trumpites and the rest who if you listen to the others are all drug addicts. It's not hard for me to believe because it was one of the first areas riddled with Oxy addiction of good hard working folks...

Does ANYONE expect him to refrain from lying at ANY time??
What a shame for our country. It's like a choice between a turd in the left hand and diarrhea on the right.

This is laughable. The fools in the WH and Dem party never answer any questions about Joe the fool Biden while they try to chastize the best President in history.

Why is Biden not being publically cared for by neurologists or neurosurgeons. Instead the zeroes called Dems try to make it about Trump.

#9 | Posted by Robson at 2024-07-08 07:17 PM

Never forget the Dems said Hunter and Joe are smart and "Dr" Jill is the crooked Biden cabal boss.

I believe Trump. It is longer than one page and no pictures, so he wouldn't have read it; nor paid attention to an executive summary.

Republicans call Trump's move to distance himself from Project 2025 preposterous'

"This is preposterous if you look at the collaborators and the authors of this plan," [Olivia Troye] told CNN when asked whether Trump's denial was credible. "A lot of these people ... served in Trump's cabinet during his administration. There are people that I worked with. I sat in those policy meetings with them."

Of the 38 people involved in the writing and editing of Project 2025, 31 of them were nominated to positions in Trump's administration or transition team " meaning 81% of the document's creators held formal roles in Trump's presidency.

I understand that the truth is kryptonite, malignant rancor to most of you characters so

I expect the usual "replies"....

---"The opposition's interpretation is never the most accurate. The differences between the Heritage Foundation project 2025 and Trumps agenda

including on abortion must be noted. Let's not forget that Trump just got the Republican party to change its platform so it matched his view

that this is now a state issue as ruled by the Supreme Court and that it should stay that way.

---Project 2025 wants to make federal laws and Trump is directly opposed to that. There are many things that Trump would agree on, but there are

also several that are in direct opposition to his stated position.

---So to say that project 2025 is Trumps project or agenda is disingenuous at best but more than likely intentionally deceptive in reality."

Trump's view is that abortion is fine.

But Trump is the reason that millions of women no longer have access to it.

Abortion is good for him and his mistresses, but not for women who live in red states.

This whole election is shaping up badly,
Biden needs to drop out. But his stubborn

#19 | Posted by earthmuse at 2024-07-10 06:32 AM

EARTHMUSE

It isn't "pride." Biden is just as concerned as you are about Trump. Biden has spent his whole political career making America the envy of the world. Now he's confronted with this diabolical scheme to throw it all down the drain. I'm sure he wishes he was younger, too.

Truth is, we don't have any other choice. At least noone with the name recognition and list of accomplishments that Democrats brings to the table. It's too late for somebody to jump into the race and expect to survive Trump's onslaught. It's too late for somebody to generate the vast amount of money to run a campaign. It's too late for somebody to nail down the electors in swing states; too late to expect that a relative unknown can earn the bloc votes of blacks, women, students, Hispanics and Independents needed to win an election. And it's too late to expect another candidate to have Biden foreign policy chops with other world leaders.

So I look at it this way. Yes, I know that Joe Biden might not be able to finish out his term. It would be naive to think otherwise. But the worst thing that could happen is that Vice President Kamelia Harris steps into his shoes and brings all of Biden's gravatas with her.

The bottom line is: The Trump alternative is unthinkable.

#20 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-07-10 07:27 AM

Another thing to consider is that a Trump administration would abandon NATO allies and force the United States to become allied with Russia, North Korea, Hungry and China.

TWINPAC
Understood. But I am concerned Biden and his enablers have blown it by pretending he's someone he simply isn't. Nearly two weeks after that "debate" this remains the top political story. And it will likely remain so into November. We know Trump's not up to it. And every damn time Biden appears on camera, ventures near a mic, people will hold their breath. That's not a presidential campaign; it's a daily maintenance operation.

Interesting this really concerns a lot of Dems. There's some serious independence there among them.

You could tell Republikkkans Trump's fav daughter bore him a child he incinerated at a local pizza parlor and ate with a knife and fork and they wouldn't blink an eye. Mucho mucho mouth-breathers in that herd.

I'm less concerned about Biden's age than I am about the waning support, in spite of his strong comeback from that one-off debate. The worst than can happen is that Kamelia Harris steps in with the same domestic and foreign policy initiatives.

If such is the case, and knowing how America shuns a woman President, then I hope Kamilia Harris has the moxy to pick a strong Vice President to carry the ball in 2028, because I don't think she can win an election on her own.

I think we can rest assured that if Trump loses this election, the GOP and the Heritage Foundation will be back on the attack in 2028. I think they're in it for the long haul ~ waiting to pounce, harder and more surgical than ever before ~ even without Donald Trump who will be, by that time, strapped in a chair and drooling pablum down his chin.

Trump is old and stark, literally raving nuts. Biden is old, and not nuts. Gonna be a long, hard slog, I'm afraid.

As for Harris, I think of how nuts the Reubens went when a Black man was elected president. Twice. A black woman? I think it would be great to let them live with that and ponder the error of their ways, but it isn't a winning strategy.

Long haul? They're on a mission. From Gawd.

"If ------- loses we can expect another insurrection"

We can expect something, that's a given. But probably not like last time. President Biden will have the National Guard armored up and sitting at the ready.

But then, there's no cure for stupid insurrectionists so you could be right.

"Long haul? They're on a mission. From Gawd."

That what they call it to get the evangelical vote.

But they're really on a mission for Russia to invade and conquer Eastern Europe which they can't do without Dictator Trump and the U.S. military.

And yet, support for the only person who can prevent America from abandoning its NATO allies and thus get dragged into WWIII is waning.
