Civilians may not be aware of it, but the US and Danish intelligence services were extremely tight for years, long before Trumpf. Putin knows this, so this is another reason why he wants Trumpf to keep threatening a takeover of Greenland: cause a rift between intelligence partners and NATO allies. For Trumpf, he wants his oligarch buddies to get mineral deals out of Greenland. EVs, computers, Smartphones, all need rare earths. Extracting them from Africa becomes costly, as well as a public relations and legal nightmare because of the slave labor that digs them up. This is why the Apple CEO donated $1m to Trumpf's inaugural ball.
Underpopulated Greenland is thawing and no slave labor is required. DOD already has a defense plan for Greenland as part of NATO, but Trumpf can use those same plans to stage a military exercise in Greenland and then keep the US soldiers unhappily there. Trumpf already signaled the US won't be participating in NATO exercises in 2026.
Space Base Pituffik would be one of the LZs in Greenland and 10th Mountain Division would be the spearhead. This sounds preposterous and unlikely, but members of the Trumpf junta have been thinking about this long before me, as you could see by the DNI's memo to collect intelligence on Greenland.
