The new executive order sweeps speech and association into its definition of domestic terrorism. In short, words are violence.

Trump's Moves to Consolidate Power, Punish Enemies
www.military.com
... In 2007, eight years after becoming Venezuela's president, Hugo Chvez revoked the license of the country's oldest private television station. Eight months into his second term, President Donald Trump suggested revoking the licenses of U.S. television stations he believes are overly critical of him.[emphasis mine]
Since he returned to office in January, Trump's remaking of the federal government into an instrument of his personal will has drawn comparisons to elected strongmen in other countries who used the levers of government to consolidate power, punish their enemies and stifle dissent.
But those familiar with other countries where that has happened, including Hungary and Turkey, say there is one striking difference: Trump appears to be moving more rapidly, and more overtly, than others did.
"The only difference is the speed with which it is happening," said David Smilde, who lived in Venezuela during Chavez's rise and is now a professor at Tulane University.

Trump urges Microsoft to fire ex-Biden administration official
www.digitaljournal.com
... US President Donald Trump called on Microsoft on Friday to fire its head of global affairs, Lisa Monaco, a former senior official in Democratic administrations.
"It is my opinion that Microsoft should immediately terminate the employment of Lisa Monaco," Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Since taking office in January, the Republican president has taken a number of punitive measures against his perceived enemies and political opponents.
Former FBI director James Comey, a prominent Trump critic, was indicted on two criminal counts on Thursday and Trump said Friday he hopes "there are others."
Trump, in his call for Microsoft to fire Monaco, noted that she served as deputy attorney general in the Joe Biden administration, when criminal cases were brought against him. ...
Continuing
(b) The JTTFs shall investigate potential Federal crimes relating to acts of recruiting or radicalizing persons for the purpose of:
(i) political violence, terrorism, or conspiracy against rights; or
(ii) the violent deprivation of any citizen's rights.
So, when ICE detains and deports a US citizen are they now terrorists? When a FCC commissioner threatens a media company's license over speech that he doesn't like is he now a terrorist? When the editor of a main stream publication explicitly advocates for violence, is he a terrorist?
"(c) The JTTFs shall also investigate:
(i) institutional and individual funders, and officers and employees of organizations, that are responsible for, sponsor, or otherwise aid and abet the principal actors engaging in the criminal conduct described in subsections (a) and (b) of this section; and"
WOW, this is a direct assault on individuals and entities that fund left wing organizations. The definition of who and what is a terrorist is incredibly vague.
"(ii) non-governmental organizations and American citizens residing abroad or with close ties to foreign governments, agents, citizens, foundations, or influence networks engaged in violations of the Foreign Agents Registration Act (22 U.S.C. 611 et seq.) or money laundering by funding, creating, or supporting entities that engage in activities that support or encourage domestic terrorism."
www.kslaw.com Trump's DOJ Rolls Back Enforcement of the Foreign Agents Registration Act
"(e) The JTTFs may, to the extent permitted by law, request operational assistance from and coordinate with law enforcement partners when investigating domestic terrorism."
Domestic terrorism IS NOT A THING
"(h) The Attorney General shall issue specific guidance that ensures domestic terrorism priorities include politically motivated terrorist acts such as organized doxing campaigns, swatting, rioting, looting, trespass, assault, destruction of property, threats of violence, and civil disorder. "
domestic terrorism is trespassing? WOW
I wonder why the January 6 insurrectionists aren't considered terrorists
"This guidance shall also include an identification of any behaviors, fact patterns, recurrent motivations, or other indicia common to organizations and entities that coordinate these acts in order to direct efforts to identify and prevent potential violent activity. "
So, thought crime, got it.
"(i) The Secretary of the Treasury (Secretary), in coordination with the Attorney General, shall make available all resources, to the maximum extent permitted by law, to identify and disrupt financial networks that fund domestic terrorism and political violence. '
So, you donate to a liberal organization who help organize a legal, lawful, peaceful protest. A rightwing provocateur vandalizes an ICE van. The organizers, the liberal organizers and those who provided donations are now subject to being considered terrorists
WOW!!!!!!!
"(j) The Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (Commissioner) shall take action to ensure that no tax-exempt entities are directly or indirectly financing political violence or domestic terrorism. ''
IOW weaponize the IRS against -------- political enemies.
"(l) All Federal law enforcement agencies with investigative authority shall adopt strategies similar to those used to address violent crime and organized crime to disrupt and dismantle entire networks of criminal activity."
Disrupt, iow pre-crime.
This is totally ------ up
But, then again, I told you so
Certainly, Trump is at the center of this but not everyone is bowing to Trump's threats.
It's about the fear of Trump's supporters.
ABC.....it appears it wasn't Trump and the FCC they were worried about. Instead, it was their advertisers, affiliates, and their actual viewers. That's who ABC was afraid of when they canned Kimmel. Then, when they realized they overreacted...they pivoted and brought him back.
There is a public University in Kansas the news today for putting a professor on review over her comments on social media about Kirk. hayspost.com
They're worried about their boosters, students, etc. for showing tolerance for an intolerant professor. Instead, they are distancing themselves from this professor and advertising the consequences.
It's wrong but we're so damn thin skinned today these organizations are worried about the consequences of not taking some sort of action against someone who dares to make an uncomfortable comment.
