How long before NY can get rid of this scumbag governor?

Keep letting criminals walk free from prosecution and this is what happens.

Complete with military assault weapons 'designed to kill many people as fast as possible'.
What could go wrong?
What are they expecting?
Are they actually planning to shoot those M16s in a crowded train station?

"Are they actually planning to shoot those M16s in a crowded train station?"

I expect they aren't issued any ammunition, just like the National Guard soldiers we saw in airports after 9/11 had guns but no ammo.

Were you old enough to have spent time in airports 22 years ago? It seems like maybe you weren't.

They were issued ammo. It was in their belt pouch.

Plus, they wouldn't have stopped 9/11 from happening either!

The military are NOT police and should not be used that way - PERIOD.

So I have been to Romania a few times and used the Bucharest Subway every time. When I first went there it smelled like urine, full of disfigured beggars, you needed to be on your guard at all times, and basically a outdated in serious need of repair communist era, well, basically it was a ---- hole. It has been too long since I was last back - 2018? Anyhow I thought about it then. New Cars, all the lighting was fixed, the stations were clean and better lit, Bathrooms were acceptable I was told by my wife. And they had 2 police officers on each train. And it was FULL. Now Bucharest isn't NYC I know but it is amazing what spending on infrastructure can do. I think they started to spend on it because of bus and car congestion but it was an amazing difference.

The more I think about this article... I mean seriously?

Ridership is 3.2 MILLION people a day. This is 53% of pre-pandemic levels when it was what? 6.1 MILLION people a day? It isn't an airport and frankly it shouldn't be locked down like one. The headline grabbing incidents are nasty stuff but considering the number of people riding daily? Throw in the issues with drugs and homelessness, it barely seems worth mentioning. Just another excuse to head further toward a police state.

NYC is only one of the safest big cities in the country, if not the safest, and likely top 10 safest on planet earth.

So, yeah.

What a sensible thing to do.

I mean, this way people who have never been to NYC and will never come here can feel safe.

Major problem is that National Guardsmen are not trained as police are, so not sure what this could lead to.
