Palestinians in Gaza are increasingly willing to voice their anger against Hamas, accusing the militant group of failing to anticipate Israel's ferocious retaliation for its October 7th attack that sparked the devastating six-month war.

Lol! Hamas anticipated everything accurately. Causing Palestinian suffering was the only point of that attack.

"They [Hamas] should have restricted themselves to military targets."
Why? I thought Palestinians
fully approved of, and celebrated, attacking civilian targets? Or is that only when they don't have to pay a price for it?

I can't imagine why?

I bet they aren't too angry with them though.

"There is no doubt support for Hamas is declining in Gaza because more and more people feel it has some responsibility for the pain they are enduring"

Gee, you think?

Well, if the Palestinians are suffering, then I definitely care. Wouldn't want them to experience any discomfort after 72% of them supported Hamas and the October 7th rape and murder to 1,200 civilian men, women, and children. www.reuters.com

Can't say as I'm surprised. Somehow, I doubt that means they've come to be fans of Israel, though.

Hamas leadership has stated that Palestinians deaths are immaterial when compared to the cause.

Israel might be the best friend the Palestinians have.

They should be "increasingly angry" with just about everyone at this point. And hungry. Very hungry, thirsty, and terrified, too.

" Palestinians in Gaza are increasingly willing to voice their anger against Hamas"

No schittt?

Gee, it seems they're finally upset their "leaders" became billionaires while the rank and file starved, and the leaders spent all the aid money on fireworks and bomb making.

And feathering their own bank accounts, of course!

"I said to Sinwar, "Tell me, is it worth it for 10,000 innocent people to die, in order to free 100 prisoners?" The reply was, "Even 100,000 is worth it." Their notion of time is different, and the price in blood they are ready to pay in order to achieve their goal is different. Because each person who dies is a shahid [martyr]. It's warfare in the name of God.

Are they themselves willing to die?

Not all of them. For example, I had a conversation with Abbas al-Sayed. I asked, "Why didn't you go on a suicide mission yourself? Why do you send others?" He said, "Everyone has a role. I am in charge.

Do you think Sinwar is willing to die?

He is. Definitely. That's the difference between him and the Hamas leaders who were released in the Shalit deal, and are living decadent lives in Turkey or Qatar. They forgot their people. Sinwar is not like that. He's an ascetic. Since establishing the shock committees in Gaza [the Al-Majad organization, whose aim was to liquidate collaborators and violators of religious law], he hasn't changed. Today he feels like Saladin, because he succeeded in doing what no Arab leader before him did. He sees himself as playing a central role in the realization of the Islamist ambitions of the Muslim Brotherhood. He thinks he has entered the annals of history. And he really doesn't care if 200,000 people are killed and not a single house remains complete in Gaza. The main thing is the goal, the greater idea."

You are not much of a friend either.

You sure talk a lot but have you set your hair on fire for them yet today?

There is a reason surrounding countries close their borders to Palestinians. This type of support didn't exist before 10/7. In fact, it was the opposite. But now that they are getting destroyed, all of a sudden Hamas is bad. All they are really saying is that they encourage and support violence, rape, etc. against anyone who doesn't belong to their particular sect of religion until they start reaping what they sow, and then all of a sudden the leaders are bad. If you really absorb what they are saying, they are only mad their current leaders weren't strong enough to carry out deaths of over 1200 and rapes of hundreds without getting beaten to the ground, and that what they want now are stronger military leaders who can do the same to the world without fear of being destroyed.

If you go by the history of Palestine, what I just said is closer to their timeline than peace and collaboration. The world just let them get away with it because they are a small, fringe group. Once they put themselves on the world stage with the 10/7 attack, the world isn't going to just sit back and let them do it.

Ummmm, I didn't really follow most of that. Sure there is a reason most neighbors don't want Palestinians. "The world" was against them(Hamas) briefly - very briefly. Once Israel unleashed their military the attitudes changed. I am not saying they are for Hamas but Israel took the good will and squandered it. Now the literal world is against Israel.

Pretty much the same reasons we don't want Mexicans, right?

Wow! I am shocked they don't like people who live in another country and use the people trapped in an occupied territory for their own gains! /s

Fetterman

[fet-er-muhn]
Noun

1. One who deals in fetters.
2. A person who seeks to confine or restrain.
3. A political pawn equally used for gain by opposing parties.

He's not wrong. These protests are a pale shadow of what Occupy Wall Street managed, and they didn't accomplish anything of note either.

In the last 24 hours there's been a naval bombardment by the IDF, rockets fired by Hamas and intercepted by Iron Dome, dozens of artillery strikes across the entire strip, beginning of the US pier construction for USAID deliveries, infantry classes in Gaza and the West Bank along with Israeli forces storming 5 different towns.

and our news coverage is.. even worse than Ukraine coverage. All we get shown is a couple students embarrassingly screaming like they're dying while being hauled off by a cop, after a good afternoon of Death to America chants.

note: Nobody is shooting at the US pier constructor nor workers. Not Israel, not Hamas, not random drunk or high Palestinians, nobody.

No, you're thinking of Netanyahu.

He let them rampage for hours. You would have loved it.
