That's only 3.7 months in legal fees.
He's broke AF.

He's just buying time so he can flee once a guilty verdict comes down and he's going to prison.

I like stories like this.

Liberals actually think they need to stop Donald Trump from assuming power again because he would be an absolute tyrant.

We just have to watch Joey Cuckold Clean Up Bitch eat --- out of Jill's ----- until 2028 if we don't want a strong man dictator type to take over and assume the exact same office with the exact same powers.

@#4 ... Liberals actually think they need to stop Donald Trump from assuming power again because he would be an absolute tyrant. ...

So, now your current seems to state that it thinks for all Liberals?

Ten Million hardly seems like a windfall, comparatively speaking. More like a band aid on a gaping wound.

As usual, everything Trump does sounds fishy. I found it hard to believe he'd sell his beloved flagship without some ulterior motive, like maybe to temporarily keep it from being confiscated by New York Attorney General, Letitia James, in the Trump Org fraud case where all of his assets are under threat.

That was my first thought. But several other cash strapped reasons are just as likely.

A MONSON

"He's just buying time so he can flee once a guilty verdict comes down and he's going to prison."

Trump is always buying time, but I doubt he's going to flee. Even with guilty verdicts, he still has appeals AND the U.S. Supreme Court to help him stay free even if he loses the election.

His problem right now is money. He can't afford to campaign. Campaigning to win a presidential election can cost hundreds of million of dollars. You'll notice that Trump isn't hitting the big expensive venues lately. He's going for the free stuff likes parks, etc. and built-in crowds like NASCAR and speaking engagements to save money. Even his usual Memorial Day speech wasn't immune.

So his biggest fear isn't about losing his freedom. It's about losing this election and, by extension, dousing any plans Vladimir Putin has for expansion.

Mr. Putin is not a forgiving man.

Trump not going to be flying anywhere unless he made a deal to leases his 757 back from the mega donner who just bypassed FEC rules by handing Trump $10 million dollars for an airplane.

#12 | Posted by Twinpac at 2024-05-28 07:58 AM | Reply

Random thoughts on this matter:
-it is highly doubtful that Trump owned this plane outright. His airplane subsidiary held title, and probably either leased it or, owned it subject to a loan on the equipment (which is more favorable from a taxation perspective)
-an airframe that is more than 25 years old would certainly not be worth as much as a newer version of the same plane, so the $10MM price--if paid--represents an over-spend on the part of the buyer
-the plane was probably fully depreciated, so from a tax perspective was of no further benefit to the former owner. Any gain on sale from the depreciated basis would be taxable, but if offset by legal or other expenses means that the sale was probably for accounting purposes only.

It would be funny if the buyer painted an Iranian flag on the fuselage...

He'd never sell the 757. I think he sold the Citation X.

Probably pales to how much he gets from those trying to seek favors from Trumpy by booking rooms at his hotels but never staying in them.

The 757 is his manliness. It's like a pickup with big tires and a lift kit to a high school kid.

This stinks of an illegal donation. I'm familiar with aircraft sales.

A 1997 Cessna Citation X (27-years-old) lists for under $5,000,000. When I saw $10,000,000 I immediately said "BS."

The 757 is also his calling card when it lands. Like the Air Force One used to be when he was president.

Trump really misses those days.

What's the number one consideration on an aircraft purchase price?

What's the second?

What's the third?

Do you know what VRef is?

Why is the price range for all same type aircraft so great?

The price may appear high to a naive person, but there are plenty of reasons it might be a reasonable price.

"This stinks of an illegal donation"

It probably was. But it's not illegal to sell an airplane.

Assuming we're talking about Trump's old airplane before he became president . . . ask yourself,

What would an Iranian-American construction and development tycoon, with his own fleet, who owns Centurion American Custom Homes, want with Trump's old, weather beaten, broke down, stripped out airplane with bad engines that can't even fly.

At least that the way it was described after Trump lost his hanger privilege (for non-payment) in New York and the plane was left sitting outside for years to rot.

That was the 757. The one he sold was the Citation.

I'm not sure why he would sell it beyond some kind of influence peddling grab.

He's super rich and thousands of rubes send him their last dimes so it's not like he needs the cash.

A 1997 Citation X is not worth $10 million by any stretch. For $10m, you get a newer X with less hours.

Yep. No way is Trump's 1997 X worth $10,000,000.

It was an easy way for the buyer/Trump donor to donate to Trump's campaign in a roundabout way as Trump's been using money raised by his PAC for legal fees ... or whatever.

That's good info. But apparently, the market value of the Citation wasn't the point.

It sounds more and more like a campaign donation masking as the sale of an airplane.

And his legal fees are eating him alive. That $10 Million might get him over a hump but it's not going to last long.

To add to Trump's problems over lack of money . . .

The Biden campaign now boasts more than 150 campaign offices in battleground states around the country and more than 500 staff.

And what are Republicans doing?

They're not telegraphing. In a statement provided to NPR, Chris LaCivita with the Trump campaign said that they feel no obligation to discuss specifics with the media, but they say they're deploying operations fueled by passionate volunteers. That said, there are no obvious signs of campaign office openings in key states at this point.

Well, with the RNC now run by Trump DIL Lara, they closed the "Office of Hispanic Outreach," have little in the coffers, and no ground game.

The NYC trial has filtered down to and exposed nearly everyone who wasn't paying attention to Trump's repugnant behavior.

Some Trump voters may become reluctant to vote for him after learning details about the Stormy Daniels/E Jean Carroll misogyny.

He's already lost significant support among women. Several percent less than he had in 2020. Seniors support Biden by significant percentages. Add in Dobbs, "dictator on Day One," his campaign of "revenge," and Trump's support isn't what polls suggest.
