The Mavericks should refuse to accept the loss.

The referee was a Celtics fan.

Replay the series! Impeach the announcers! Doxx the Cheerleaders!

Oh, and, congratulations to the Celtics. Well played.

This was the first NBA games I've watched in a couple of decades; this Finals match with my original favorite team in the 70's and 80's, the Celtics, and my other favorite after Dallas finally got their own NBA franchise.

Basketball has changed some... lots more 3 pointers and lots fewer Isaiah Thomas 18 ft jumpers, lol.

Somebody 'splain to me how the Mavs won as much a they did with no quick transition game at all?

How come this really good player Luka is slow walking the ball every possession, and why is he a freaking guard and not an almost, not quite, Larry Bird-esque small forward?

Inquiring Corkys want to know.

Meh.
The NBA died in 2008.

Why 2008?

I'd say it died in 2011 when Shaq retired as it was the beginning of the end of inside-out basketball as we knew it. Today, all of the players are wings. No real point guards and no bigs posting up with their backs to the basket.

Game died when the refs started giving Jordan 2.5 steps.

Loss of the jump ball also sucks.

"Game died when the refs started giving Jordan 2.5 steps."

That predated Jordan. Remember Dominique Wilkins with his "jump stop"?

@#8

Yup.

Even so, the rather significant increase in attendance and the audience is amazing.

More so, imo, than some old NBA team winning something or other. Yeah, blah, blah, blah, a NBA team won. How many years have we seen that headline?

Compared to, ... ~WNBA is drawing record attention~?

My guess would be that the billionaires who look to invest in sports teams may be having a ~wait, what~ moment.

The WNBA is still bleeding cash. Just not as much since she entered the league. She's a fun player to watch. She's not just a shooter - a great all-around game.

@#10 ... The WNBA is still bleeding cash. ...

Yeah, the WNBA needs to update (a.k.a., renegotiate) their various contracts to reflect a new situation.

Of course, the other side of those contracts will be unwilling to acknowledge the change that appears to be occurring.

Yeah, the WNBA needs to update (a.k.a., renegotiate) their various contracts to reflect a new situation.

Whats their new situation? They are spending $25M on chartered jets.

Caitlin Clark's games have produced 1/3 of all new revenue and "record attendance".

While you think just searching for WNBA, and quoting it makes you knowledgeable, try understanding what actually happening.

Who even watches WNBA OR NBA? Until these leagues are balanced as the leftists claim they must or need to be for "equity" why bother? For most part they dont begin to provide an example of good sportsmanship behavior.

Who even watches WNBA OR NBA?

Enough people around the world to the tune of their 30 teams getting ready to be paid $76 Billion over a ten year deal for tv and streaming rights - and those aren't the only media rights contracts to be signed. Currently the NBA is looking at record revenues for the foreseeable future as an entire crop of new superstars are ascending as the old guard of LeBron, Steph, KD and others see the end of their playing days quickly approaching.

Yeah, the WNBA needs to update (a.k.a., renegotiate) their various contracts to reflect a new situation.

The W's CBA contract will be renegotiated after next season - right in time for players to take proven advantage of the Caitlin Clark effect currently setting tv viewership and in person attendance records, drawing more eyes to all the league's teams and marquee players which created the security necessity of accelerating team charter jet travel (mentioned above) previously to be implemented next season, not this one.

The league has also boosted the player prize pool for this year's in season Commissioner's Cup tournament where winning players will receive an additional $40,000 a piece.

This will likely be the first time in history the league will be able to completely support itself through its own revenues without any assistance from the NBA.

I just read a couple of days ago that the WNBA was projected to lose 50 million this year...even with Clark.

" I just read a couple of days ago that the WNBA was projected to lose 50 million this year...even with Clark."

That's because they're in a multi-year contract, so it's based on projections from 3 or 4 years ago.

It's the NEXT contract which will contain the stunning jumps.

Tell you what.....you leftists watch'em as the entertainment more fits your IQ.
