The influence of wealthy donors and dark money was unprecedented. Much of it would have been illegal before the Supreme Court swept away long-established campaign finance rules.

The single worst decision made by the SCOTUS since Dred Scott.

It is working exactly as Alito and the GQP Supreme Whores intended. CU allowed a billionaire to buy the presidency for the most corrupt POS to ever hold the office, a convicted felon who is without a doubt the stupidest person to ever run for POTUS let alone win. Now we will see how badly the Broligarchy screws over everyone who is not a billionaire. This, I fear is the end of America.

But the Court did warn Congress that it was their responsibility to pass new laws regulating campaign donations, which of course they never did, as if anyone really expected them to.

A sad day that Citizens United directly led to the mess we are in now.

Money is now Speech... and Musk and the Oligarchs have a whole hell of a lot more of it than everyone else does.

Which was the whole point of legislation like CU and the undermining of government of by and for the People.

Corporations saw Nixon go down and the Vietnam War stopped by the People in the streets and decided that what America needed was Reagan and Corporate dominance, not People Power.

Welcome to the the Fourth Reich America.

"Welcome to the the Fourth Reich America."

We would never call it that. Too Hitlerish.

We might call it the Corporate States of America though.

Our motto could be:

E Pluribus Cha-Ching!

Long established my ass. The law was on the books for all of 10 years before parts of it were struck down. Leftists hate the 1st Amendment more than they hate the 2nd.

You couldn't explain what the 1st amendment is if your life depended on it.

Instead of posting stupid shht, you should get back to your book burning club.

For someone who claims to be an originalist. You're ignorant about the first amendment. When the first amendment was ratified. Corporations couldn't donate to political campaigns because of the severe mistrust of them. Oh and campaign finance rules started in 1867. Just FYI Jeff.

Besides, when the United States first became an independent nation, it was understood that corporations were to be charted with the idea that they had a finite lifespan, because our Founding Fathers did not want there to be a concentration of wealth nor the domination of market places, ie, monopolies. While they had successfully thrown off the concept of generational rulers, Kings with heirs waiting in the wings, they were unwilling to trade that for 'institutions', living in perpetuity, enduring beyond the elected representatives of the people. However, over time, as corporations, and the people running them, managed to gain influence with members of Congress and the White House, these ideas slowly fell by the wayside.

BullBringer is a staunch defender of the first amendment.

He's also a staunch advocate for homosexuals to shut up about who they are and return to being 2nd class citizens.

Also, he's not a fan of books. Kids may read them and that's his biggest nightmare.

Actually, when it comes down to it, he only supports the 1st amendment as a means for billionaires to buy our government.

MAGA!!!

Who's trolling?

You've posted in favor of forcing homosexual teachers to never acknowledge their homosexuality and have always supported book bans.

You may lack self awareness.

But the rest of us have read the shht you've posted.
