... Because ever since it became obvious the senate border bill was going to die ...
Why did it die?
Don't look at the symptom, look at the underlying cause.
Republicans like border security as an issue more than they like border security as a solution.
So, maybe your current alias needs to look more at why the Senate border bill died.
Jus' sayin'.

So... why is the GOP so against imagination reform?
I'd proffer the answer is simple...
The GOP wants immigration reform to remain as a problem, and not be a solution.

Either you live in a bubble or are just ignorant.
Joe Biden Says He's Done All He Can Do About U.S.-Mexico Border.
"I've done all I can do. Just give me the power. Give me the border patrol. Give me the people. The judges. Give me the people who can stop this and make it work right," - Biden www.newsweek.com

#11 From the article you posted:
Regardless of how much any executive action might appear to increase immigration enforcement both on the border and in the interior of the U.S., the officials said, it would pale in comparison to the effects that would arise if Congress had passed the border security bill.
"It's a plan B," an official said. Both officials said doing nothing is not an option.
On Tuesday, President Joe Biden argued the bipartisan bill would have "made important fixes to our broken immigration system," calling it "the toughest, fairest law" on the border ever proposed.

One thing that I wonder about this current "immigration crisis" is...
What percentage of the immigrants are coming into the Country illegally, and what percentage are coming into the Country legally?
The current law allow for those claiming asylum to come into the Country.
What percentage of the immigrants are coming into the Country, legally, under that law?

When he proposes executive action to do what the GOP has been claiming they want you'll either make ---- up to rationalize being against it or you'll whine about him doing it by executive action, entirely ignoring the end being what you want while the means being politically inexpedient.

As a matter of principle, responsible governance and national interest, yes.

Most Americans see Biden as not just grossly incompetent but far worse especially when it comes to border and foreign policy. Why? Perhaps those that pull strings wanted to create enough public anger to see a national rebellion that could be used to implement an emergency declaration and put Americans in prison and also disarm them to protect crooks, cartels and gangs.
The government was originally designed so the people could keep an eye on it. Why has the Biden govt apparently been set up to keep an eye on the people?

Turning this country into an autocracy isn't going to be easy.
If Trump wins there will indeed be another civil war to decide if this country will be led by a democracy or an autocracy. And a lot of people are going to die at the hands of their fellow Americans. A civil war between states will cause Interstate Commerce to come to a screeching halt as will imports and exports. Highways and railway will be impassable. Ports and airports will be blockaded. Unemployment will skyrocket. Agriculture will cease to exist. Companies will go out of business. There will be hand to hand combat in towns and cities. Shelves will be empty and rioters will be free ranging. Concentration camps will spring up across the country. Families will be torn apart. The U.S. Army will be used to turn this country into a police State. Gatherings will be prohibited. Undergrounds will be formed. Assassinations will be common. Travel will be restricted. Banks will be outlawed from transfers of money out of country.
A 21st Century Civil War in the United States will be a lot different than the one from 1861 - 1865, more bloody, more destructive, cover territory from all points north, south, east and west, and last a lot longer. Weapons will be a lot more sophisticated and travel further than the musket loaders of the last Civil War.
When you vote this November, possibly for the last time in your life, ask yourself if this is what you want for your home, your family and your country. Because the next Civil War isn't going to fought by armies between the North and the South. It's going to be fought by everyone, military and civilian, from coast to coast.
