... U.S. President Donald Trump deported 37,660 people during his first month in office, previously unpublished U.S. Department of Homeland Security data show, far less than the monthly average of 57,000 removals and returns in the last full year of Joe Biden's administration. ...

20 million?
That's a bit more than 400,000 per month over a four-year period.

37,66o in the first month is 1,255 per day. Now he needs to average 2,900 per day to hit his target for this year.

I dunno.
When I divided 20 million by four years, I get, 5 million per year.
Dividing 5 million by 365 days, I get a bit over 13 thousand per day.

Of course, that then leads to a couple of questions ...
Why does Pres Trump apparently have the need to lie so much?
What should we believe of what he says?

Oh, you noticed that also?
But when a mass deportation of 10-20 million people is involved, don't you think there should be more thought behind the comments spouted?

Another thread showing that all the hand wringing, stories of terror at schools and churches across the country, imminent concentration camps as all these people were descended upon... were utter bull***t.
This is why the dems weren't listened to then, and now that you actually have good points that Trump is slinging platitudes about immigration, no one is left to listen to you now.
If the Dems could just have some measured and reasonable responses, they could make some gains... instead we get 'choose your fighter' Tik Toks.
smh

Their facade of reality has been penetrated. It was never thicker than their next line of snark. t Trump/MAGA will respond to stats showing low deportation rates by lying their asses about them in future.

Not that Donald Trump was willing to scare the bejesus out of everyone for the sake of PROMISES he couldn't keep.
You people are entirely malleable. Like putty.
You don't care what sh-- Trump feeds you it all tastes good.

Is it really? Think about it a bit longer.
No one drives in the middle on the double white or yellow lines or the median. If you had to stop on a busy road and you could not get off the road then the middle would be the safest place to be beside getting off the road entirely.

Trump is illegally detaining undesirable citizens mistaken for immigratns, at a higher rate than Biden.
So MAGA is still happy with the way things are going.

Um, Trump himself said he wasn't focusing on the mass of illegals at first. He said he was going after the criminals. The violent ones. The ones causing trouble. And he's doing it partly because he isn't the devil (fully) your TDS makes him out to be and he is giving illegals a chance. They already updated the app to convince them to leave willingly.
Look, Trump is an idiot but demonize him for valid reasons. There are plenty of them. He's deporting less right now than Biden and you liberals don't want deportations, so on top of demonizing him inaccurately...you are being hypocrites, as well.

Trump deported fewer people last month than Biden a year ago, but border crossings have plummeted About 11,000 immigrants were deported last month, compared with over 12,000 a year ago, data obtained by NBC News shows. Encounters along the border are the lowest they have been since tracking began 25 years ago. One reason is that the Trump administration ended the CBP One program that allowed migrants to book asylum appointments via a phone app while waiting at the border. Now, migrants are turned away at the border even if they approach legal ports of entry, a policy that immigration advocacy groups have opposed in court. The Trump administration has been slow to reveal its deportation numbers, though it has publicized its arrest and detention figures, which are up compared to the Biden administration. In Trump's first month in office, ICE arrested more than 20,000 immigrants, the Department of Homeland Security said, a 111 percent increase compared to the average monthly number of arrests during the last fiscal year. And ICE under Trump is holding 10 percent more detainees than it was at the end of the Biden administration, according to the agency's public data. At the end of February, ICE was holding almost 44,000 migrants in detention, according to the data.
