Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, a billionaire, said his 94-year-old mother-in-law wouldn't even think about complaining if she didn't receive her Social Security check. She'd just think "oh they messed up, it'll be here next month." ... By the Social Security Administration's own estimates, of all beneficiaries over age 65, some 12% of men and 15% of women get at least 90% of their monthly income from Social Security.

Lutnick " a billionaire former Wall Street CEO " made his remarks during the recording of the billionaire "All In" podcast host Chamath Palihapitiya.

Doesn't that just scream Lutnick's a man of the people? In touch with those he's supposed to have as "customers"?

The out of touch billionaire didn't stop there with his comments. He went on to say that "(a) fraudster always makes the loudest noise, screaming, yelling and complaining." So there you have it - if you're living on social security, if things are tight, if you need that check every month - and you complain? You are a liar. A thief, A cheat. A fraudster.

These people are not only cruel, they're arrogant.

These people are so worthless as well as arrogant. If course she won't complain because she knows she has a wealthy son to take care of her. What a schmuck he is.

Why would a billionaire's mother-in-law give a flying rat's ass about a 'social security' check??????

Laughing at all the trumptards who angrily claimed that a Trump Cabinet Toady would never even hint at ending Social security or delaying it.

I repeat. Never expect patriotism from a billionaire. They don't care.

The stores where they shop the day their check drops will. S/S checks are spent in the recipient's communities supporting local economies. Yay let's hurt everyone!

An oligarch knows she would not call Social Security. She would call the oligarch in charge (him) and tell him to fix it. And if he could not fix it immediately he would just send her money.

Because oligarchs love their mothers too.

I wonder if landlords will mind missing rent payments.

When I retired, I learned rather quickly to do my grocery shopping on Wednesdays, as thats when direct deposit SS checks are disbursed, prompting most grocery outlets to do enticing one day promotions, especially in the meat dept.

"oh they messed up, it'll be here next month"

What happens when they're not sent out next month?

"grocery shopping on Wednesdays"

Wednesday was Senior Day when I worked in the grocery store. Ten percent off your total bill is a huge discount for a grocery store.

Saddest thing to see was the day after a mass shooting in town, senior traffic was down about 50% because the old people are scared to leave their homes. Thanks, Second Amendment.
