Of course it's plummeting.
Trump/MAGA is a national disaster.
Nice to see, though, that EVERYONE save the fanatics now understand that they will be hurt.

How many of these CEOs voted for the-------------? What are they complaining about? They'll get their tax cuts.
They were giddy after the election. The drove this number up double-digits. 48% now think a recession (or at least a significant downturn) is likely? Are these people actually paying attention? Feeling remorse? "Trump is off to a great start, so it's disappointing to see his dumb' (as the WSJ said) tariff policy muddying the waters..." Oh. Poor boy. This is "muddying" isn't it!
Apparently they haven't learned a damn thing.
Anyone that thinks CEOs are brilliant have never known a CEO.

I wonder if things like this are optimistic or pessimistic for the business outlook?
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Canadian actor Jasmine Mooney " who had a role in an "American Pie" movie " for 12 days in early 2025. www.snopes.com
There was no explanation, no warning. One minute, I was in an immigration office talking to an officer about my work visa, which had been approved months before and allowed me, a Canadian, to work in the US. The next, I was told to put my hands against the wall, and patted down like a criminal before being sent to an ICE detention center without the chance to talk to a lawyer. [...] Thirty of us shared one room. We were given one Styrofoam cup for water and one plastic spoon that we had to reuse for every meal. I eventually had to start trying to eat and, sure enough, I got sick. None of the uniforms fit, and everyone had men's shoes on. The towels they gave us to shower were hand towels. They wouldn't give us more blankets. The fluorescent lights shined on us 24/7. Everything felt like it was meant to break you. Nothing was explained to us. I wasn't given a phone call. We were locked in a room, no daylight, with no idea when we would get out.

That's unacceptable. Totally unacceptable. it's why there are travel warnings going up in all our allies regarding travel to the United States. WTF?

CEOs are unhappy, under 30-year-olds are unhappy, US allies are unhappy, women seeking reproductive care are unhappy, Americans of color are unhappy, foreigners are unhappy, veterans are unhappy, people on social security are unhappy. All this misery brought to us by Trumpf and Musk. Thank you very much Republican voters!

"CEOs' rating of current business conditions in the U.S. fell 20 percent from January."
Twenty percent drop, just two months into this forty-eight month not-so-slow-motion train wreck?
How Low Can You Go!

The word I most associate with the CEOs I know, is "driven." I wouldn't hesitate to call some of them damn smart too, but that's not what makes them CEO. It's the dedicating your life to what you are doing. Some very smart people think that's a pretty dumb thing to do with your life.
Some very lucky smart people find something they like doing. Some very lucky driven people find something they like doing. Something you like doing is what we should all aim for, smart dumb and everyone in between. It's not easy to find. I have had thirty plus different jobs. Only a handful I liked doing, and most of those didn't really pay.

This makes sense, they feel the government cheese is coming to an end.
40% of new hires were government hires in 2023-24.
It's insane to put so much into the government running on huge deficits.
Diversity isn't just for schools.

The graphs and chart illustrate a warning and a problem.
The problem is that 70% of survey respondents are calling for no economic growth in the next year, or a recession. Low or negative expectations result in lower business investment and hiring. Remember those fired government employees? They could be idle for a long time.
The warning is that business leaders now see the economy as being worse than in Biden's final year in office. If the average person on the street is told that the economy is bad because of the last administration and that the new administration is making a bad situation worse, those people will start to worry and slow their spending. That anchor on the economy's progress will probably pull the economy into recession. This year ...

In brighter economic news, CEOs' security teams are doing rather well, thank you.

Ive known several. At best, they're pretty normal people.
At worst they're idiots who shamelessly take credit for success they played no part in while pushing off blame they deserve to take.

So Oneironaut is dumb and/or disingenuous enough to claim that the concerns the CEOs of America have about the Trump economy are based on whether they're going to get government handouts.
Why should we trust the views of business leaders and economists (and regular people) about the harm being inflicted on the economy when we've got the assurances of Oneironaut and other MAGA cultists?

We're a little more than a week out from Trump's 25% tariffs going into effect.

One- most of the debt is from dubya and tRump's tax cuts. Only conservatives believe the less you take in and the more you spend, the richer you are.
