Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, April 16, 2025

Opinion from The Guardian. There are some spectacles of US decadence and decline that almost seem too on the nose -- the sort of orgies of vulgar provocation or fantastic lack of self-awareness that exceed the limits of parody, so that if they were in a novel, you'd think the writer was laying it on a little thick. Among these is the all-female flight by Blue Origin, the Jeff Bezos-owned rocket tourism company ...

What the hell is a woman?

Bezos's Amazon donated $1m to Trump's most recent inauguration, and he intervened during the 2024 election to stop the Washington Post, the newspaper he owns, from endorsing Kamala Harris; the Trump administration, for its part, just awarded Blue Origin a contract worth more than $2bn.
That's a decent ROI.

"What the hell is a woman?"

One thing is for certain:

You will never know.

In many respects I agree with that assessment.

The trip looked like a PR press release, nothing more, nothing less.

The women were passengers, relegated to a non-important position for the flight.

Of course, their presence may have been important to Mr Bezos' who collected their fares. But beyond that ....?

"What the hell is a woman?"

The difference between us is that, while you ridicule my belief that it's up to every individual to decide their gender,
Your authoritarian answer to "What is a woman?" is that it's for The State to decide everyone's gender.

I believe in personal freedom.
You believe in crushing personal freedom with Statism.

At least one of them is actually a pilot. Not that flying skills have any value on things like this.

Agreed.

imo, it was a photo-op, with money going to Mr Bezos.

Pretty much. At least it didn't blow up.

This is why these women deserve more respect than anyone here has given them.

To paraphrase Chuck Yeager, those women knew it might blow up. Higher risk of it blowing up, or some other malfunction, than going on an airplane.
They sat at the top end of a rocket and went to space. The girlz did alright.

I don't care if they just sat there, they showed more bravery than anything anyone on this board has ever done, or will ever do.

I believe in personal freedom.

Choosing your gender isn't personal freedom.

These people you're talking about are making these decisions, not because of some internal drive, or free will but through undue external influence, and in some cases restraint.

This is why so many hollywood actors/actresses have tran gender children, its hip and cool. Its not some internal "feeling" its actually external influence guiding their "choice".
www.them.us

I mean if the argument is toys can influence gender, I don't see why parents can't, and in most cases have more influence than toys.

So good luck thinking its about personal freedom, I am sure it makes you feel good, and superior about yourself; Just like supporting children immigrants working as slaves.

Pretty sure

A. You don't have kids
B. You've never actually kissed a woman
C. You're not now nor have ever been "Chinese"
D. Are just a boring sock puppet of a drooling imbecile

The 10-minute trip was a bs pr stunt promoting amusement rides and attempting to clean up Jeff Bezos's wretched reputation, zip to do with feminism.

Did this flight already happen? I was looking forward to them being stranded in space... all alone... with each other.

The "edge of space" is a misnomer/false advertising. The edge of the Earth's atmosphere is not the edge of "space".

So elon musk can have his bald head surgically made into a hairy head, but someone else can't have their penis made into a vagina?

Historically, speaking out against fascist dictators can be much riskier than a thrill ride on a rocket.

Bezos has reduced space flight to a very expensive amusement park ride.

#17 who said they couldn't... but they'd still be a biological dude and not a woman. They could call himself a trans woman, and I would refer to them way out of respect.

Democrat? You realize Bezos just paid a 47 million dollar bribe to trump's WIFE, and told his newspapers not to criticize the worst president in history right?

But it is his hair. It's his hair that has been chemically enhanced and surgically relocated.

So is he a bald man?

"Choosing your gender isn't personal freedom."

There's only one alternative to personal freedom:
Gender is how you want the state to control people!
