More than three years after its installation was approved by Congress, a plaque honoring law enforcement personnel for defending the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, is instead sitting in a Capitol basement utility room surrounded by tools and maintenance equipment. ... The legislation authorizing the memorial was part of an omnibus spending package approved by Democrats and 39 Republicans in 2022 and signed into law by Biden. Leadership of the House changed in 2023 when Republicans took control and before the plaque was ready to be installed. The memorial has been in limbo ever since.

Fine with me in most cities, since "Black Lives Matter" they don't do their jobs anyway.
Overheard their conversation when one of them said we "won't let them enforce the law" anymore!
Which translates into "we won't let them beat people to death anymore. So now they won't enforce traffic laws or do anything about burglars. The police are basically on strike. We should stop paying them! They might change their attitudes if they actually did remember they work for us and we can stop paying them if they won't do their jobs.

Republicans are responsible for facilities and maintenance, well, until the Blue Wave next year, which has already started with GOP District Offices.

And they obviously don't want the Plaques put up, or they would already be up.

Nothing anyone has said changes my point. Even if this issue hinges on Republican control of the house. The current AOC was a deputy before he was appointed by Congress (including surely some democrats) as the AOC, and beyond the appointment congressmen have no control of the nuts and bolts of his job.
Of note, all the official gov't sites still have him listed as the deputy AOC He sounds like an amazing man. Read about him here:

I don't think he would play favorites concerning the ultimately inconsequential plak. Could be simple gov't inefficiency, several years to get done a simple task is not beyond the realm of precedent. As noted, they (the gov't) has not even updated to reference his position correctly on the official aoc.gov site..

And just like that, everybody knows more about the subject, me doing research and you all kicking and screaming trying to maintain your status quo of blaming everything on duh Gee Oh Pee. YW.
