Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries: "It's my expectation that Kristi Noem will be one of the first people hauled up to Congress shortly after the gavels change hands to get a real understanding for the American people as to this conduct that has taken place: The lack of respect for due process, for the rule of law, the unleashing of masked agents on law-abiding immigrant communities, and the disappearing of people in some instances, to other countries without any real evidence that criminal behavior took place," Jeffries said in an interview with Tim Miller on "The Bulwark Podcast. All of this is going to require aggressive Oversight activity."

"Jeffries added that he supported the deportation of immigrants who have been convicted of violent crimes, "but not law-abiding immigrant families, including in some instances, U.S. citizen children who've been sent overseas to a place that they've never known."

Cruelty being the point of that kind of lawbreaking.

Retake the House in the midterms?

Last year it was the End of Democracy, and There Would Never Be Another Election.

That language sure changed fast.

Trump already said he'd suspend elections in 2028 by going to war.

Like it matters.

They'll "haul" her up to Congress, put her in a chair and yell at her for a few minutes without really asking any questions, then nothing will happen while they pat themselves on the back for "resisting."

The Dems are the WORST people possible to be the opposition to what is going on right now.

If the Dems don't retake the House in the midterms it's pretty much over for the Dems AND democracy.

Enjoy the FAFO.

#4: "I make $174,000 a year, enjoy platinum health care in Congress, and served enough to enjoy a robust pension. I have a perennial source of incredible funds for my re-election campaigns, so I will never criticize ICC-indicted war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu nor will I endorse my fellow New York Democrat Zohran Mamdani. Now I will perform in a kabuki theater for my constituents who will all believe my convincing pantomime."

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries: "I know I've totally bitched out and barely done anything to meaningfully fight Trump, but I swear I totally will in this hypothetical future even while I continue to attack any progressive Democrats who actually fight Trump and support helping the Middle Class."

When this all goes to hell in the proverbial handbasket, it's not going to be the libs on these pages that are being beheaded in their Corporate HQ's, it's going to be the CEO's and the Bankers... you know, the Oligarchs that funded Trump's Far Right Populist White Nationalist Cult.

It's going to make the French Revolution look like patty cakes.

#7: After fellow Democrat Al Green (D-TX) introduced a bill this year to impeach Dummkopf Trumpf for illegally attacking Iran, AIPAC attack dog Hakeem Jeffries killed the motion. Remember, Israel comes first for faux Democrat Hakeem Jeffries, not his fellow Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Al Green, or Zohran Mamdani. Link: www.axios.com

"The country is headed toward a single and splendid government of an aristocracy founded on banking institutions and moneyed incorporations and if this tendency continues it will be the end of freedom and democracy, the few will be ruling...

I hope we shall...crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations which dare already to challenge our government to trial and bid defiance to the laws of our country.

I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies."

Hakeem Jeffries is a corporate owned Democrat.

He's got nothing but empty rhetoric.

Democrats will keep losing till they figure out it's the people who vote for them, not their corporate masters.

Thomas Jefferson Quotes About Democracy

The issue today is the same as it has been throughout all history, whether man shall be allowed to govern himself or be ruled by a small elite.

Thomas Jefferson

Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government.

Given the effectiveness of the House, it probably doesn't matter. Rule is all by Executable Order now.

Instead of hauling her up they'd be much more gratified bending her over but it's not going to have any impactful change on what Dems are trying to accomplish.

The fact Jeffries and a lot of establishment, corporate, conservative democrats, refuse to support progressives and especially popular progressives such as Mamdani, even going as far as supporting Cuomo, has not gone unnoticed by a lot of voters.

This is how democrats shoot themselves in the foot, by trying to be better conservatives than republicans.

Because this nation is so far to the right on everything.

Indeed. These two Presidents would not recognize today's Democratic Party, except for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), Zohran Mamdani, or the 'Squad": pbs.twimg.com

The Democratic Party Faces a Voter Registration Crisis
The party is bleeding support beyond the ballot box, a new analysis shows.

61.7% unfavorable as a party vs a mere 56.5% unfavorable for Republicans.

Maybe Dems should try something radical for a platform, like trade deals that bring manufacturing home and tariffs like Bernie recommended.

The problem within the Dem party of self-identifying progressives is that they manage to be more unlikable than Trumpers and incredibly naive. Penn dems roll out the red carpet to religious fundamentalists, then are shocked when those same ones come into power and ban pride at the library, in entirely blue areas.

The Democratic party no longer represents regular people.

Bill Clinton, the "Centrist", started the whole slide into irrelevence.

Given the choice between a Fake Republican and the Real Thing most people seem to go for the Real Thing.

Trying to be "compassionate" Republicans was Dubya's shtick.

Trump is about Domination and Abusing the Vulnerable.

About Militarism and Top Down Centralized Control.

Democrats should be the party of Peace.

The Party of Universal PROSPERITY.

NOT the party of Megadonors and Oligarchs.

That's why they're losing.

#23 | Posted by Effeteposer at 2025-08-20 04:00 PM | Reply

Of course the Dems will NEVER BE THE PARTY OF PEACE.

Truman, the Nuclear Holocaust War Pig; exemplifies the Democratic party leadership... Not peaceful. He Recognized Israel in 1948 leading inevitably to the Horrors of today.

Genocide Loving Zionists with perfect AIPAC bona fides are not Better than Trump.

Just more WishyWashy.

Trump Stands "almost" Shoulder to Shoulder with Israel. But not quite.

He refused to Escalate the War with Iran like Israel wanted him to.

Israel backed off because they were getting their ---- Blown Up by too many UNSTOPPABLE Iranian missiles.

Lol.

From the websites below, anyone on the planet can see which US politicians put the priorities of Israelis and their universal healthcare network, excellent social security system, and top 15 military establishment over the priorities of the hardworking, peace-loving non-Islamophobic American taxpayer.

What kabuki theater Americans get from the status quo dinosaurs in both parties.
