Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

"U.S. national debt reached a new record high of $38.019 trillion. It took only 71 days to add an additional $1 trillion to our national debt, with $382.260 billion added this fiscal year, during the government shutdown," said JEC Chairman David Schweikert. "Our current level of deficit spending is unsustainable. We are rapidly approaching the point where interest payments on the national debt will consume the majority of federal spending. Even today, interest is already the fourth-largest line item in the federal budget. This trajectory poses a serious threat to our economy and jeopardizes the financial future of our children and grandchildren. I urge my colleagues to confront the hard facts, look at the math, and prioritize fiscal responsibility to reduce our national debt before it's too late."

Republicans were warned that their massive tax cuts for billionaires would explode the national debt. It is no surprise that last week the national debt surpassed $38 trillion, with the fastest accumulation of a trillion dollars in debt outside of the pandemic. The hypocrisy is stunning.

Good job, MAGA. The shear dedication to idiocy you and yours show in regards to the country and your own personal self interests truly inspires. Stay classy.

Two parties have had the entire Legislative and Executive branches to have surpluses and pay off the National Debt, make permanent actions.

Neither have done this.
No president has vetoed bills to force Congress to stop having deficits.

The National Debt is a joint effort be Democrats and Republicans.

Lower deficit spending doesn't stop the bleeding debt.

Looting as much as they can before it collapses.

So let us just accept the facts that 1) America is bankrupt thanks to the Trump tax cuts for the billionaire caste, and 2) we are led by utterly corrupt gangsters who are out to protect themselves not the American people. As America's ability to pay its debt totally goes away, we are in a Ponzi scheme economy,, where we pay off the service of the debt, and pretend, like Madoff did, that nothing is wrong. The Soviet Union showed itself to be bankrupt when it couldn't pay the light bills for the military, but all in all the very rich under Putin made out like bandits as they looted the treasury and took over.
Sound like our Republican Party to you?

America is bankrupting due to two parties' actions.

When a couple keep borrowing and growing the debt, the amount they borrow doesn't change the interest rate, and since the amount owed isn't decreasing, the end result is the same.

The Black Swan is coming, and if debt accumulation continues at that pace, we won't last a year,

Routinely shutting down in October means you're 25% underfunded to begin with. The savings from fixing massive corruption didn't happen, turns out there isn't a lot of individual cheats.

You're the dictator, you get to wave a wand a cut stuff until the government can actually make it a year, you don't have to pretend you can have a balanced budget, just get through the year. What gets cut?

The Military. They can't pass an Audit and they're Bloated with Fraud, Waste and Redundant costs.

Cut the Military 80%. Then the Budget looks more manageable.

Subsidies for Oil and Gas... reduced to nothing.

More savings.

Make the Timber operations build their OWN Roads. No Subsidies. NO National Forest Giveaways.

Tax the Wealthy at higher Rates. Much higher.

Prioritize Social Services especially for the Poor.
More Money for Welfare and FoodStamps.

That's the ticket....Champ.

If Republican insurrections don't destroy America then their tax cuts will.
