DHS Secretary Kristi Noem announced that body cameras would go to ICE agents in Minneapolis and to operatives nationwide when funding is available. Noem said that the move was in the interest of transparency, but there was no mention of having ICE agents remove their masks when conducting operations.

yes the problem with these murders that were captured on video from 15 different angles, including by the people killed and the people killing them, was that there weren't body cameras.

"...when funding is available."

"The sweeping domestic policy law that Republicans muscled through Congress last year made ICE the highest-funded federal law enforcement.

  • Republicans allocated $190 billion over four years, with $75 billion specifically for ICE, making it the highest-funded federal law enforcement agency.
  • Democrats warned that the funding would increase ICE's capabilities without sufficient oversight."

ICE agents are equipped with military-grade weaponry (e.g. assault rifles, firearm silencers. laser finders, night-vision goggles, explosives, and hi-tech Israeli hacking devices, while DHS is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to buy warehouses to store migrants like so much Amazon merchandise, yet Kristi Noem bleated that body cams will be deployed when "funding becomes available."

There is no "fixing" or "reforming" ICE and DHS other than completely dismantling them. INS can be reconstituted to pre-9/11 conditions and DHS functions can be returned to the FBI, US Postal Inspectors, USCG, the US Treasury and other agencies. Look how quickly the diabolical Trumpf junta destroyed USAID.

Lawless government organizations will never utilize any technology that provides data they will certainly have to make efforts to hide from public view.

What will be the contracted design specifications? Will there be mandatory failure rates or sensors that switch off the camera when a crowd control device is removed from its resting position or elbow mounted failsafe buttons that require constant pressure from the hand on the same side of the body as the sensor or a weight bearing sensor that switches off the camera when full weight bearing is detected or will there simply be no "on" button?

    When funding becomes available?

They have more money than most militaries around the world. What more funding do they need?

    "when funding is available"

    Hahahaha.

Anything and everything for the grift.

Actually deporting people is a secondary goal.

Republicans support it, because they think it owns the libs.

They should have had bodycam all along, it would debunk much of the leftists' curated video clip 'dindu nuffin' narratives.

Gosh why would trump give such power to such unequipped, untrained people?

Decades ago a young Virginia State Trooper (VSP) menacingly placed his hand on his firearm like Doc Holliday while disrespectfully addressing me for allegedly speeding as I left the Pentagon and entered Arlington County, Virginia.

In full US Army uniform I asked him if he intended to shoot me.

The trooper became more belligerent with me in his body language and words.

After I finally agreed to sign the summons, I said "See you in court."

When my turn came up in court a few weeks later I asked the ADA to present the body-cam or vehicle-cam film as evidence that would both exonerate me and show how dangerous this VSP flatfoot was.

The young VSP Brownshirt whispered something to the ADA who then advised the judge the film was not available that day.

After I demonstrated to the court on a dry erase whiteboard that the trooper had no line of sight on me coming around the USAF memorial statue, the judge ended up fining me half the amount and no points were taken away from my license.

When I paid the fine, a court clerk said to me: "Colonel, that was a great demonstration on the whiteboard. These Virginia state troopers are all alike. They smile like angels in court but they're nasty to everybody outside."

If the insidious Trumpf junta wants to deport migrants, why spend hundreds of millions of dollars to buy warehouses to build ICE concentration camps for them?

    Q. How long does ICE intend to keep these migrants?

    A. Long enough for contractors to make money through them by feeding and housing them on the cheap. They will charge the hardworking American taxpayer $159 per day to lodge each migrant, but spend less than $26 on their daily nutrition. And lots of security jobs will be created for white Republicans.
