Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, February 04, 2026

I am loath to give credit to my friends in the Democratic Party for much, but I will say this about them: They know how and when to circle the wagons to get things done in Congress. I hate this when it's done in practice, like when Senate Democrats passed the Affordable Care Actin 2009 with just 60 votes and no Republican support. Senate Republicans were able to narrowly pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in 2025 with Vice President JD Vance casting a tiebreaking vote. Republicans in Congress must learn from that success and also rip a page from the Democratic playbook and forge ahead with chutzpah to get one more bill passed. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in federal elections, passed the U.S. House with some bipartisan support and should be brought to the Senate floor.

Making up a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.

What is "voter integrity" supposed to mean?

Screaming for a "solution" to a nonexistent problem, again?
More like can't handle the simple fact that GOP policies are unpopular.

Citizens want Pedo sex offenders out of government and tried for their crimes.

Why don't Republicans?

Why don't Republicans?

They're all one 14 year old away from being pedophiles themselves.

Looks like MAGAts will need assistance when it comes to figuring out why they and their loathsome "alternative facts," flat-earth, anti-Constitution fascism is coming a cropper.

Third stupid ------- story about the same thing. MAGA is ------- terrified of the justice about to be delivered.

Voter fraud is just another myth created by the GOP to excuse their losses.

Actual voting fraud does not occur in any significance to effect any election. Period.

Our elections are secure despite the lunatics running around apoplectic over shipping containers of chinese ballots, hugo chavez and germany servers controlling our elections.

God the fooking lunatics have to make up crises left and right.

Garbage pile thread. NOBODY is surprised by who the author of the thread is.

What kind of ID will be accepted? ICE has already ruled that the so called "real id" is not valid.

Bellringer: Who is "I" here?

I don't believe the author is trying to surprise anyone. So stop worrying about it. You clearly have enough problems without crying about Bell.

With such a high % of Americans who claim to support Voter ID and so many Democrats standing on the other side of the issue......naturally you'll see these kinds of articles that are trying to drive a wedge between Democratic party voters (who support voter ID) and their elected leaders.

I never hold the poster of an opinion piece to every sentence in the entire opinion piece and assume everything is the belief of the poster.

In fact, sometimes the poster agrees with almost none of an opinion piece.

IOW, if Nixon posted this, you'd probably focus on the article itself and not chase after the guy who posted it.

But you'd have to be smart enough to understand that.

Laura,

"Garbage pile thread."

So far, some of the posts on the thread are garbage but Voter ID isn't.

It's fair and needed in these times to insure only those qualified are voting.

I'm still waiting for ONE example of a US election where Voter Fraud effected the outcome...

#17 We already have 100% voter ID.

Most people know it as voter registration.

But, BJ boi, bell boi, and so many others seem to overlook that fact.

" to insure only those qualified are voting."

Should it be made easier, or harder, for every qualified voter to cast every qualified vote?
