It is mentioned from time to time that Trump is delusional, but few still take that literally to heart.
Trump is imagining these negotiations out of a deep and sick persona need, with a dash of manipulating the markets.
The man is crazy enough to start a war of personal choice without the assistance of Congress, our allies, or the American people. And without remembering the existence of the Strait of Hormuz.
Oh, wait...

Trump's people are treating him like Hitler in his bunker----They aren't providing him accurate information about the world for fear that he will lose his temper.
This is pathetic.

It took six years of intense, world-wide war to get Hitler himself to the same point of lunacy as Trump already is.
We are going to hear stories of the man moving imaginary military units around on a map of the Middle East.
WHAT in Hell are those 7,000 US troops expected to do against Iran?
I'm getting whiffs of Gallipolli and Dieppe.

Iran's regime is fighting an existential battle for survival.
They'll dictate when this war is over.

The issue as I see it ...
Pres Trump (rightly) views our military as most excellent.
But Pres Trump's failure is his apparent equivalence of military might (tactical) with goals (strategic).
Stated differently, the US Military in Iran has been performing outstandingly. The issue that I see is not the performance of the military, but the stratgy of the Commander in Chief.
Stated differently (again), what do those military operations accomplish for Pres Trump's strategic goals in his Iranian War?
Has the Iran Regime changed?
Have Iran's nuclear stockpiles been removed from Iran?
I could go on...

**** Iranian Counterattacks Forced US Military Personnel to Work Remotely ****
"Iran has bombed US bases across the Middle East in retaliation for the illegal US-Israeli war against the people of Iran, forcing many American troops to relocate to hotels and office spaces throughout the region, according to military personnel and American officials.
In essence the US military is fighting the war while working remotely, with the exception of fighter pilots and crews operating and maintaining warplanes and conducting strikes.
Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps has urged people to report these new locations as it hunts for the dispersed troops. US military officials say that threat is not stopping the Pentagon from carrying out its unlawful war against the people of Iran, which is in its fourth week."

Zed,
"Trump is imagining these negotiations out of a deep and sick persona need"
Personally, I don't know what the truth is.
But it's interesting that you automatically take the word of the Iranian regime without question.
That says a lot. The level of hatred for Trump in this country must run pretty deep for someone to trust a government with a long reputation for dishonesty over their own government.
And let's not pretend this ends with Trump.
The next Republican president will get the same treatment.

"it's interesting that you automatically take the word of the Iranian regime "
He didn't "automatically" take that position. He took it after watching Trump serial-lie his way though the Presidency.
For example, when Trump said maybe someone else used a Tomahawk missile on the Iranian girl's school, the rest of the world laughed, because they know the rest of the world doesn't HAVE Tomahawks; only the US, the UK, and Australia do.
You, though, probably bought Trump's bulschitt. Hook, line, and sinker.

"The next Republican president will get the same treatment."
Night noises. First, the frogs croaking for mates in the night, then the effin peacocks, followed by the duck barage, and now the wild cry of the sad MAGAt.
As usual, a pease, moan, whine, rinse, repeat yippity-yappity.
