Yes. People who support Trump are fkkking morons.

I'm sure you know many of them.

Then there's the people who supported Trump in 2025 but are feeling buyers remorse in 2026, like my aunt, who is dissatisfied with everything Trump has done as president, but is sure he's better than Harris would have been.

Not the least among them is the very politically liberal Chris Hedges, Harvard Divinity Grad and registered Presbyterian Minister.

Of course, he spend his early years as a War Correspondent in Central America, where he learned very vividly that War is a Racket.

His father was also a war veteran, a minister, and an antiwar activist.

"In November 2016, following the election of Donald Trump as next US President, Hedges' predicted in Truthdig:

The most benign forms of opposition will be treated as if they are a threat to national security. Many, hoping to avoid the wrath of the state, will become compliant and passive.".

Who does that describe? I was under the impression Clown was talking about anybody who believed in God. Not just Evangelicals (who vote for Trump).

To be honest, if Clown had simply said "evangelicals" I would have ignored the comment because I agree. I read it as a more broad brush description of any person who follows an organized religion.

-People will ignore reality in order to support Donald Trump.

This is true. People will ignore reality in order to anything they want to do.

Partisan politics trump everything else.

I read a statement issued by someone at CBS defending Pelley's firing.

The comments afterward were quite predictable.

"He's a loser"
"deserves to be fired"
"lying POS"
"60 minutes sucks"

Almost everyone says they value objectivity.

Most of them are lying. They don't want objectivity. Spoon feed them what they want. Anything else is going to get rejected.

Only for republicans.

If dems behaved like repubs trump would be in jail instead of president. Biden and garland would have locked him up for his criminal obstruction of the mueller investigation, firstly, followed by many other prosecutions.

And it wouldnt even have been "partisan" it would have been simply following the law.

When in power, Dems bend over backwards to show repubs how nonpartisan they are, like biden funnelling jobs bills to red states, or pursuing a republican health care solution. Then when repubs are in power, they do everything they can to harm anyone who didn't vote for them.

Politicians fear republicans because they're a bunch of whites with guns who are all accustomed to being treated as if they're above the law.

Politicians don't fear democrats because most of us are pacifists who believe logic will prevail.

When republicans find out a fellow republican broke the law, they help them cover it up or excuse it.

When democrats break the law fellow democrats kick them out of the party.

#53 & #55 Nailed it!

Democrats, since FDR, seem to take the attitude that the good works they did - from Social Security all the way through Obamacare - and the successes that they are, speak for themselves. 'Tis almost like Democrats are embarrassed to bang the drum (constantly) for those successes.

Republicans, on the other hand, know that their policies are ---, and that no rational American would vote for them, so they're left with the alternative of tearing down every single Democratic success since FDR, and sneaking in their real agenda items when they have the trifecta (2017 & 2025, for example).

And with the hesitation by Democrats to bang their own drum, voters' impressions are formed by the opposing message.

Just like the Harris/Walz refusal to address the misleading ant-trans ads that Trump & the GOP spent $300,000,000.00 spreading throughout October 2024 (in all 7 swing states, and all during NFL and NCAAF televised games).

They answered those withering ads with zerO money in return. Voters' impressions were formed.

Thank you Speaks and Clown.

You're good people.

-'Tis almost like Democrats are embarrassed to bang the drum (constantly) for those successes.

Perhaps that's because those successes are not why a lot of democrats are democrats.

-no rational American would vote for them

Well, this country is chock full of Americans....not necessarily rational Americans.

And those votes are available. Those folks don't trust democrats at all. Yeah, it's quite irrational.
