Ventura Highway - America

My question is who on god's green earth would ever want to cover it, except maybe someone who could perform it in such a way to make a listener forget the original ever existed.

Save me from the 60s and 70s folk rock, pop sound, although thank god for it. Calms my wife's sundowning right down.

And please no rock sax from the 70s or 80s. It all sounds the same.

Also very pleasing to my dear Alzheimer's-addled wife.

13. I heard the term yacht rock sometime back. Pretty funny.

I was amazed to have kraut rock edited out here. Sauerkraut anyone?

For anyone who thinks Zappa was a clown, imagine the rehearsal that went into this. Live footage ...

And some fine guitar work.

Anthony Braxton. "To Composer John Cage."

Best with headphones, loud, especially toward the end.

I suppose a good road song from 54 years ago still fits into the kids' theme?

Recommendation for the volume while listening to this song?

Loud.

Nothing quite like heading East on I-4 in a 1972 MG Midget, in 1974 or so, top down, tonneau cover over the passenger side, and the shoulder strap painting a tan on me that makes me look like I was wearing a Bandolier Strap...

... all the while listening to this ...

Good times ...

Good memories ...

Bobby Bowden was once quoted as saying, "We came to a fork in the road and we took it."

(or was that the Bear?)

Anyway, that expression definitely reminds me of this song ...

This song will ring true to anyone who's ever watched Casablanca.

Seriously, you aren't even trying to meet the ask, and it's pathetic.

As $#!+ as everything has become, you need to preserve your ability to find new music that doesn't suck @$$
