As Gen. Chris Donahue, commander of U.S. Army Europe and Africa, joins the ranks of leaders involuntarily exiting the military, Pete Hegseth's purge deserves to be seen as a genuine scandal. www.ms.now/rachel-maddo ...

"He's a West Point graduate, with a military education that includes time at the Naval War College to the U.S. Army War College Fellowship at Harvard University, according to his biography.

Donahue is leaving as President Trump pushes to withdraw soldiers from Europe, which has raised concerns among lawmakers, and as the White House plays hardball with NATO over defense spending.

His departure follows Hegseth's decision to ask Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to step down in April and Navy Vice Adm. Shoshana Chatfield was fired within the same month."

Obviously too competent and patriotic for this Administration.

My niece's husband is a commander in the US Navy. He has just submitted his paperwork for retirement. Before this -------- took office he was planning on re-upping. He has been working 7 days a week 14 hours a day since February because his expertise is the Middle East. He has had enough of the chaos.

So much talent is being chased out of the government by these -------- it is going to come back to bite us in the ass big time in the future.

My thoughts immediately go to "this is exactly what Putin wants" when I see these stories or mass firings at the FBI or DNI.

The longterm negative consequences rippling out from this trainwreck of maladministration will not be repaired. Coped with? Hopefully. Work-arounds figured out? Perhaps. But a nation simply does not "come back" from the shredding this one has been taking at the hands of Trump, his investors, enablers, and mob of deplorables.

"Hegseth has fired or pushed aside more than 20 top officers across the armed forces, including the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General C.Q. Brown, who is black, and Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the first woman to serve as head of naval operations.

He's also reportedly stopped dozens of promotions across the U.S. Army, Air Force and Navy.

Donahue "had more to give to the Army," Arnold said. "He's been removed early."

Observers, former officials and current U.S. lawmakers have also raised concerns over the dismissal of the top U.S. military lawyers, fearing U.S. soldiers could end up making legally dubious or illegal decisions in operations.

Hegseth has called military lawyers "roadblocks" and vowed to "untie the hands of our warfighters to intimidate, demoralize, hunt, and kill the enemies of our country."

Shocking this would happen when a Fox News Host is made, Sec of 'War'.

Vlad, Xi, and Kim are all thrilled.

Donahue was a force of nature. I first came across him when he was the 18th Airborne commander running Task Force Dragon (which later became SAG-U). The dude used to show up to his daily Commander's Update Briefing in gym clothes. Not even Army PT gear. It was always a rumor that he would have a short tenure at USAREUR. Not because he was getting fired, but because he would be quickly promoted to Commander, USEUCOM. Which would have also made him NATO's Supreme Allied Commander of Europe as well.

I also worked with Tom Bussiere, another 4* who unexpectedly left after Trump took office. You can't blame these guys for leaving. Their credibility is where their real authority lies. Lose that, and you become a star-studded joke.

If you read all you'll find the he has been 'asked' to retire. o not remember any here complaining when obama ousted quite a few senior officers as they were not willing to play the 'political game'/lean left he wanted.

AI Overview President Obama's oustings of senior military officers were primarily driven by individual misconduct, strategic policy disagreements, and the need for new leadership. Many of the specific removals were initiated by the Department of Defense and Inspectors General for infractions unrelated to White House

In other words, the opposite of what Sow Hegseth is doing.

They're decimating the top ranks and losing all that experience.

Since no reason has ever been given for the firings one can only assume it's political.

Our military has always been non-political. Until these morons (including the former host of FoxNews weekend).

A General commits a serious crime.
"Obama fired him for not playing the political game!"

General publicly criticizes the White House for not bombing Iran.
"He was a genius! Obama fired him for no good reason!"

The US military command will be weakened for years, perhaps decades, to come due to Trump. We are seeing the same thing happen with the DoJ. Intelligent, ethical personnel who are dedicate to the rule of law instead of cult leader leave their jobs instead of working for the Trump crime family.

So Hegseth can't even sack up and fire him?

Obama straight up fired McChrystal.

You voted for these clowns because you are a weak and broken man like they are.

You should stop thinking you have important things to say.
