A MAGA Congressman has received a sharp backlash for cutting his Indian-American wife out of a fundraising ad for his re-election campaign. "You can call me by any name you want. I just want my children to grow up in a country that they recognize," Texas rep Brandon Gill wrote in an X ad as he tried to defend himself against accusations of racism. "Every parent & grandparent needs to read this." However, the image that the MAGA rep shared to speak on family values failed to include his Indian-American wife.

If this POS truly wants to grow up in an "America he recognizes", his beliefs require him to divorce and deport his wife as well as his half-breed kids.

No exceptions made for your little political career, Snowflake.

*** Train Conductor Fired After Insulting Foreigners ***

"A conductor at Tennessee's famed Incline Railway was fired for his viral Independence Day speech to tourists who were left disgusted by the controversial patriotic message.

Goof-for-nothing Jack Peterson, the now-sacked operator at the 131-year-old attraction up to Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN wished his American passengers a Happy Independence Day before welcoming foreigners to the rail system:

"To the very, very few Americans in here, Happy Independence Day," Peterson bleated to his passengers.

"To the rest of you, welcome to the greatest country on the face of the planet, and if you disagree, you can leave," he snarled.

MAGA morons are so racist, they'll even throw their own wives under the bus.

But they're not racist at all, nope.

The funny thing is, this country is no longer the country I knew and loved growing up. I no longer recognize it nor think it encompasses the values it used to that made it great, so either this country always had different experiences for different people or their version of it never existed other than in their heads.

Or, worse, it was the version we learn about in our history books where there were suppressed classes of people and freedom was a one way street.

Actually it is, and in many ways it's even better.

But as you said......you grew up

Not everyone can see how the sausage is made.

"Actually it is, and in many ways it's even better."

Is it? Is the glass half full or half empty. That depends on where you sit.

I grew up with a very different America. I had a career in a very different America. I retired from a government I no longer recognize.

So better for some but in many many ways it is now much worse for so many.

I remember the days when the homeless did not camp on our sidewalks and in our parks and on the stoops of businesses.

Nonsense. Pure, unmitigated nonsense.

Like Donner said, glass half full or empty kind of thing.

My hometown. Growing up late 70s and 80s.

Facts of life during that time....

I could utter word "ni$$er, ----, ------, -----, ----", etc. without even looking over my shoulder.

Minorities, ----sexuals, other challenged individuals.....completely and openly shunned and ridiculed.

Today? thousand and thousands of miles of progress. mixed race couples, ----sexuals living in the open, much better attention, empathy, help, resources, being provided to folks who need it. They were written off back when I was a kid. Not saying racism went away entirely but it's so much better today.

The grade school I attended was a falling down completely piece of ----. Run on a miniscule budget. Today? 100% better situation for kids. When I was a kid, I saw teachers, priests, nuns openly ridicule kids who couldn't read. today? We can diagnose dyslexia and help those kids and remove the horrible stigma they carried when I was a kid.

Drugs and alcohol addiction? misunderstood, undiagnosed......and went unaddressed. Today? Managed much much better.

Zero appreciation for environmental hazards and concerns when I was a kid. Farms and industry polluted like hell with zero concerns. today? 100% improved.

I could go on and on but I guess all that's nonsense to you. I grew up in a rough place I guess (even though I didn't know it) and my kids had it much much better. And their success shows it.

So why do you vote Republican?

None of those improvements came from Republican policies.

Sam Brownback is Republican Policy.

Did you vote for Him?

Low Taxes and No Services at All.

Citizens Need to Work More so Industry can Pay Less....

That's the Brownback Way.

Even Kansas eventually threw him out.

Did you join, That Wave?

In that regard you're right, but you're describing things that are actively being repealed/rolled back. The clear and present danger to that progress is a large reason why so many people think this country has taken a turn for the worst.

Couple that with economic stagnation and predation, the accelerating erosion of constitutional rights and the absolute rot in our political system and government? It's going to get worse before it gets better.

They're gutting environmental protections and neutering agencies abilities to enforce what regulations are left.

They're setting public lands up for outright sale or destruction by leasing to oil/gas, mining or timber companies. All profits from said public land destruction are going to the corporations, of course. The public gets nothing but destroyed public lands.

The United States peaked some time in the late 90s I think. Maybe early 2000s at the latest before GWoT and rabid Reagan worship started taking over.
