Deluzio: I introduced this Let Kids Play Act with Senator Murphy and some others to get private equity and vulture investors out of youth sports. Let's start with the problem: they have turned youth sports into a luxury item. They've jacked up the cost for families.

This is ridiculous.

America has so many parks and sports leagues, just in youth soccer alone there is the US Youth Soccer (USYS), US Club Soccer, and the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). There are more than 10,000 local leagues, that are organized into regional or state associations.

Similar to turning healthcare from "healthcare for patients" into "healthcare for profits," this seems to be doing a similar thing to youth sports.

Going from "youth sports for participants" to "youth sports for profit."

You're a cartoon who thankfully never reproduced. Rec leagues are everywhere, but the talent pool isn't.
If you dominate a rec league (by the time you're 10) you get asked to join travel clubs or AAU.
Which you may want to google, you ------- dope.
Club tournaments are big time cash, you pay for parking, you pay for entry, and since your kid is stuck there for 3 games minimum, you pay for the over-priced pizzas and snacks.

AND - Personal Trainers that used to rehab knee replacements are now all in the business of "kids sports evaluation"
Where they will happily charge you hundreds to "train" your 8 year-old and track their "progress"
