... The recent killings may have increased support for abolishing ICE. About half (48%) of Americans somewhat or strongly support abolishing the agency, while only 40% oppose doing so. A majority (58%) of Americans who have heard about the recent killings support abolishing the agency, while only 36% oppose doing so. In contrast, one-third (33%) of Americans who have not heard about the recent killings support abolishing ICE, while 50% oppose doing so. To some extent the gap aligns with a partisan gap in likelihood of having heard of the killings, but among Independents, those who have heard of the killings are more likely than those who haven't to support abolishing ICE (55% vs. 47%). The question about abolishing ICE followed the one asking about awareness of the killings, so every respondent was at least somewhat aware of the killings when weighing in on ICE abolition. ...

I have no idea what the purpose of ICE is other than to harass Americans in blue states.
Obama and Biden were able to deport undocumented immigrants without attacking cities, harassing communities and filling up detention centers.
Why do we need detention centers?
What does America stand for any longer?

ICE plans to spend up to $20 million to purchase thousands of "conductive distraction and de-escalation devices" for officers and agents by March, according to a notice published Monday by the Department of Homeland Security. The devices are known as the G.L.O.V.E., which stands for Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter, and are manufactured by Compliant Technologies LLC of Lexington, Kentucky. They have been used in recent years by some jails and police departments. DHS said Tuesday that it was working on a response to an Associated Press inquiry and offered no immediate comment. Jeff Niklaus, the founder and CEO of Compliant Technologies, wrote in an email, "Unfortunately, we are unable to speak on this subject." The notice said the solicitation for a no-bid contract could be published as early as Friday. ...

I made a shock box in high school. It was covered in aluminum and when you grabbed it delivered a nice shock.

BTW- If you think you are going to find yourself in a situation where they might use these on you there defensive tactics you can take. One is they actually have clothing designed to dissipate the electrical charge before it goes thru you.
It's called Thorshield. It had conductive material imbedded to dissipate the charge as electricity always takes the path of least resistance.

When in the last 50 years did does anyone imagine this country looked favorably upon our efforts to control immigration?
Hell...let's go back to the late 19th century when hoards of immigrants came into this country.
"The Gangs of New York" characters were oh so fond of our efforts at the time.
Since? Yeah.....with some potential exceptions I would think there has never been much confidence in our immigration control.
