US, Greenland & Denmark US can build, Non-Nato can not

Donald Trump and the leaders of Greenland and Denmark signed an agreement with no expiration date Tuesday that permits a larger US military presence in Greenland. The agreement, signed during Trump's visit to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, expands American military access and cooperation in the Arctic as the United States responds to the growing presence of Russia and China in the region. I believe this agreement provides a practical path toward a safer and more positive future for America.

What Deplorable Trumping MAGAts don't understand is Greenland was already part of NATO.

So Trump committing to "defend it" is actually what NATO was intended for.

All of this is nothing more than desperation by Trump to say he did something.

It was an addition to a treaty that was already in place.

Some new items, but mostly, just repeating a lot of what was already in place.

Pres Trump, as usual, tries to make his deals out to be the best thing ever.

But one aspect that lingers for me, and I have mentioned this before, does the end justify the means?

In other words, Greenland and Denmark were willing to discuss getting to this point from the very beginning. Discuss, no threats needed.

Yet Pres Trump chose to take the "threaten to take Greenland from Denmark" approach, causing long-term damage to the US-Europe friendship in the process.

So, yes, the deal has some benefits, but did Pres Trump really need to accost our nearly century-long allies in order to attain the deal? Is he that bad of an negotiator?

The Southern Border isn't closed. About a million people cross it daily.

The US was never being threatened by an attack from the North. Hell, Trump calls Putin his friend, traitor pedo.

Everyone has a stake in the outcome of this election. The whole world has a stake in it whether they know it or not.

AI is the most transformative technology humans have ever invented. It's important how we release it into the world. This important who is in charge when the Singularity occurs.

Some of us can see what's coming in the next two years. And it's apparently not gonna be a fun "game" for many. And there is even a chance all of humanity may be the losers this time (10-20 percent chance atm?)

It's not just a "game" we are watching on tv.

The Singularity is nearer than ever. It may already be here. I suspect it is. I suspect we have passed right thru the "event horizon " and there is no turning back now.

So enjoy the Great American FAFO while you can because we are all about to Find Out.

I worry about how Trump is gonna treat states
That elects a democrat to replace a republican in the Senate

States that lose a Republican senator in this midterm election ... I think Trump might set those states on fire.

Sadly it's probably going to be worse than anyone thinks.

There will come a point, probably in the next 2years, when humans will not be able to out think AI. No one can really understand what that means. No one on earth.

Like trying to figure out what happens once you pass the event horizon of a black hole. Nothing bad happens at first. You don't even feel it. Until it's too late.

That's why the next 2 years are critical. For the world.

There is no turning back and it's critical how our leaders deal with it. And look who our Dear Leader is.

I want to be an optimist and be excited about how AI will help us. And it might. But I can't keep thinking of how much peril we are in as humans and how badly we have reacted to these kinds of things in the past. As a species.
