More from the article ...

... At the U.S. Army's annual convention here this week, an exhibitor banner greeted attendees: "Welcome to the Unfair Fight."

At booths touting everything from laser weapons to attack drones, the idea that defense companies are selling is that, in any contest with the U.S. military, opponents will not only lose but also be sapped of their will to fight on.

In the current war against Iran, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has spoken of "crushing" the regime "in an overwhelming display of technical skill and military force. We will not relent until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated." He was echoing nearly verbatim President Donald Trump's promises of a quick victory from early March.

On Thursday, news came that the administration is considering using the "Mother of all bombs," or "MOAB" in Pentagon parlance. It's the most powerful non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal, and such a strike would allow the Republican administration to declare a "definitive victory," if not actually achieve it, in an unpopular conflict that has driven up gas prices ahead of next month's midterm elections.

But the kind of military rout that leaves the vanquished prostrate in salted fields doesn't happen anymore, and it is thinking along these lines, analysts add, that leads politicians to start wars which, like with Iran, drag on far longer than the immense resources of the U.S. armed forces might suggest.

If military superiority alone could end wars, then Afghanistan and Iraq would have been relatively easy American wins. Instead, many modern acts of aggression have devolved into long-running conflicts, notes Stephen Biddle, professor of international affairs at Columbia University and former strategic adviser to retired Gen. David Petraeus. General Petraeus commanded U.S. forces in Iraq and later served as CIA director.

The best use of military power in modern times is to convince adversaries that it is time to come to the negotiating table, argues Dr. Biddle, who recently co-authored a Foreign Affairs article about the "myth" of military victory.

"No war can end without an offer the enemy can accept, no matter how powerful one's armed forces, or how one-sided the fighting," he argued. ...

~Wars are easy to start, difficult to end.~

Pres Trump's war of choice against Iran was predicted by Pres Trump to be only a couple three weeks in length, and then there would be regime change, no nukes, and so much more. Or so we were told ...

Where are we now?

Month eight, American casualties and injuries, and dozens of billions of dollars spent? And a formerly significant naval base in Bahrain destroyed?

Yet still no end in sight.

"3 days to Kiev".

"Kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will come tumbling down"

"30 Days to Richmond".

"Two weeks to Regime Change".

Wars are Easy to Start.

Often almost Impossible to Stop.

Iran will push the US Military right out of the ME.

Lol.

Of course. Conservatives are too cowardly to actually finish a war. Instead they continue to throw money and lives at it to pay for their cowardice. Only Democrats are brave enough and have the moral fortitude to end a war. The Iraq war was ended by Obama. Afghanistan was ended by Biden. And Conservatives continue to attack them for ending them (especially Biden), attacking them for what conservatives were too cowardly to do themselves.

What Iran is teaching America

Iran taught the orange child rapist how to cower in a food cart.

I bet you wish there would've been a food cart before Jeff Gannon shredded your sphincter and left you with a soft spot in the back of your head.

I remind people of a few irrefutable facts

America has lost the war against Iran.

Iran has achieved its strategic goals. That is the definition of winning.

America has not. that is the definition of losing.

There is nothing that America can do to defeat Iran militarily

Nothing.

I can't believe people have yet to understand that simple fact.

Land war is simply out of the question

Naval blockade means an extended war damaging the world's and America's economy-Iran wins

Iran will not surrender to a naval blockade

Air war? Wars are not won by the air.

I have said since March ALL Iran has to do is threaten traffic in the strait and they win. The cost of fuel skyrockets. The cost of fertilizer skyrockets and the downstream economic impacts last for a loooong time.

There is nothing we can do to prevent Iran from projecting power into the Strait, nothing.

thus we lose

And again, we started an illegal, immoral, unjust, unjustifiable war of aggression during negotiations with a cowardly sneak attack that murdered their leader and young children. We have committed numerous war crimes, we have threatened genocide, while enabling Israel's genocide, we have reneged on agreements, we have murdered their negotiators.

We have active criminally and immorally

We deserve to suffer

And it occurs to me that that last point cannot be stated by our politicians, everyone MUST be YAY America! Yay! our military

When the simple fact is we have committed acts worse than Japan in WW2-they at least TRIED to get a Dec of War before the President and they limited their attack to military installations.

No, until we can recognize this fact and deal with it, nothing will change
