Greta Thunberg Arrested at Gaza War Protest in Denmark

Danish police have arrested the environmental activist Greta Thunberg in Copenhagen at a protest against the war in Gaza, a spokesperson for the student group organising the demonstration has said. Six people had been detained on Wednesday at the University of Copenhagen after 20 people blocked the entrance to a building and three entered, a police spokesperson said.

This hurts her credibility on climate issues and makes it seem like she just wants to be in on everything young people are angry about.

Climate protest? Add Covid lockdown ideology.
Climate protest? Add Ukraine.
Climate protest? Add indigenous rights.
Climate protest? Add Palestine.

Definitely detracts from her message.

WTF is "Covid lockdown ideology"???

#4 | Posted by hamburglar at 2024-09-04 06:40 PM

There's no such thing as a Covid lockdown.

Matter fact, people that used to be chastised for bring burger flippers suddenly became essential workers and were keeping our economy going.

She needs to avoid things that are fashionable at her college and stick to he message otherwise it will be deluded.

#7 | Posted by Tor at 2024-09-04 07:07 PM

I'd call it typo... but it might actually be more accurate.

#8 | Posted by kwrx25 at 2024-09-04 07:59 PM

She's standing up. Loud and Proud. I Respect that.

Not waiting for change until the "time is right", (it never is to the pillars of the status quo).

She's just not going to Shut Up.

Get over it. She wants change now. Not in the indefinite future.

And she's making a stink about it.

Lol.

When your activism becomes a parody of itself, it does more harm than good to the cause it claims to support. This is true all across the spectrum. No pun intended.

#10 | Posted by sentinel at 2024-09-04 08:29 PM

--------. That's Claptrap you spew at people you disagree with get them to Shut Up. Or Self Censor.

Show me one example of this "loss of credibility" for being too outspoken?

I'll Wait.

#11 | Posted by Effeteposer at 2024-09-04 08:50 PM

Was Martin Luther King too outspoken? Too annoying and Uppity to be taken seriously?

Many at the time said so. They said it distracted from his message.

Was he Too loud and Uppity? Too impatient about Incremental Change being Slow when life itself moves swiftly?

Eff off with that Noise, Fella.

You're full of ---- on this.

Clearly the solution is to roll in a protest about Gaza, while we protest which workers are really essential.

The bitter partisan divide on who and what to lockdown, if everything, or if anything.

She's an activist, a professional societal agitator. That's why folks donate to her and support her for it. Good for her, not my cup of tea.

This young woman is braver than any of the keyboard warriors on this site that have nothing good to say about her. I get that she intimidates a lot of you but really, trying to pick on a 21-year-old college kid makes you look even more foolish than usual.

Is she going to refuse to vote for any politician that doesn't agree on every single issue with her, like you are?

Good for her! If you have the energy and the drive to fight for positive changes I say go for it! Run for office ... get involved. Vote. And get others to vote.

At least she didn't just set herself on fire because she was disappointed with the world and the rate of change.

"At least she didn't just set herself on fire because she was disappointed with the world and the rate of change."

Quite unlike the buffoon Rob Reiner.

Greta Thunberg is always perpetually pissed, always angry about something, and always the angry little climate wench.

She's autistic (Asperger's), dumbass. On her worse day, she's 3 times the human you are.

"This young woman is braver than any of the keyboard warriors on this site that have nothing good to say about her."

Braver?

She is a rich kid who made up her mind about climate change at eight years old.

There is nothing brave about having your wealthy parents ferry you across the world to provide commentary on your favorite causes. It just happens to be that her favorite causes and your own align.

You're right.

She should be out partying, getting arrested with drugs or for driving 120 mph, posting stupid stuff on social media about clubs, etc. like most rich kids instead of trying to make the world a slightly better place.

That's your take, right?

#25 | Posted by Sycophant at 2024-09-06 12:15 PM

"That's your take, right?"

My take is that her parents happily fly her to all four corners of the globe, otherwise they would be stuck listening to her nonsense at home.

"Greta Thunberg is always perpetually pissed, always angry about something"

I have a kid like that too. I just have the money to deport her to a place where someone else is going to have to listen to her incessant --------.

But to have money...
