Ozzy Osbourne Dies

Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne has died at the age of 76, his family has announced. Osbourne was a music icon, who rose to prominence as founding member and lead singer of Black Sabbath in 1968. The band were pioneers in the heavy metal genre of music, writing classic tracks like Paranoid, War Pigs and Iron Man. After leaving Black Sabbath in 1979 over rising tensions with its other members, Osbourne had a lengthy solo music career releasing more than a dozen albums.

No idea if it is true but I heard that after Ozzy arrived in hell and a very nervous looking satan stood up from a thrown and said "welcome, sir. Here's your seat. I was just keeping it warm for you."

Thank-you for the music.

I'm listening to Ozzy's Boneyard channel on SiriusXM, which has become an ongoing tribute that will likely go on for a while.

My kids got me into devil music after they learned about it through Guitar Hero. I was a child of the '80s who didn't get into '70s heavy metal until it became grunge. Love it now, though.

My uber religious mom told me I'd burst into flames if I brought home a Black Sabbath album.

Never did tell her about sneaking with my fellow young teen friends to a Stones concert where they were the opening act. Strangely, I did not spontaneously combust, then or ever after.

I was more of a Beatles fan anyway. That probably saved me from a fiery death. Or, most likely, mom's religion was full of ****it.

That's quite a dramatic exit! RIP Ozzy.

Jose Mangin, who created Ozzy's Boneyard with Ozzy and Sharon, can barely talk on the channel because he's crying so much.

Bats everywhere are letting out sighs of relief.

The first time I saw or heard him was probably on MTV's Headbanger's Ball. They played the hell out of Crazy Train and Bark At the Moon.

He obviously had some health issues when he aopeared in the Metal Years movie im the late 80s, but was still able to make music and collaborate with others for many years after that.

I had to stop listening to Ozzy's Boneyard. The people on the air are completely wrecked.

I'm so glad I got to see Black Sabbath back in 2016. Ozzy's legacy is intact. RIP, Legend.

I saw him back in 2004. He looked like and sounded like he was in his 70s back then.

This hurts... too close to home. I was in college when Deep Purple, Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Pentagram, and Black Sabbath came out. Anyone who could hard rock a war song and also sing a love song was in fashion.

RIP, bro.
