Nearly 90 million registered voters sat out 2024. That's almost 90 million ballots that won't be used by those who they are assigned to. Even you pea brain can probably see the problem with 90 million ballots just floating around.

It's not intolerance because it's not out of the blue or unprovoked. We've been kicking each other in the nuts for 20 years on this site and I can probably count on my hands the number of times people have changed.

And no, you don't have to be "liberal." That is, unless the definition of liberal is to be ok with people getting assistance or receiving taxpayer dollars through programs. Is that the definition of liberal?

BTW I feel the same about the disturbing number of extended family and friends/acquaintances from my hometown who work for various government agencies (DHS, NYSP, NYDOC, IRS and a few others) who are also against government programs/assistance for poor people (even though many of them ate regularly as children because they received assistance) and rail against government employees as incompetent, unnecessary yada yada yada.

If you take when it suits you but fail to see that others need help too sometimes or can do a job serving in government at various levels then I'm perfectly fine calling you a mooch. Why? Because we know it's the decent pay and good benefits that make you justify your partaking while simultaneously sneering at those seeking the same things.

That was my point.

You don't have to be a "liberal" to be OK with other people getting assistance or landing a government job because the pay and benefits are good.

Which is precisely why I call Boaz a mooch for being ok with taking whenever it benefits him while being adamantly against anyone else getting assistance or a job as well.

We're able to securely do all sorts of stuff remotely from banking to financial transactions to passport/ID applications to...

Yet to people like Ballwasher, mail in voting is impossible, despite it already providing functional data of being in widespread use with little fraud to speak of.

I'm good with a responsible and secure social safety net. I don't denigrate those who need a hand up when times get tough. But that's not the same as government employees.
