Steve Benen: Today's ruling completes a fraud trifecta of sorts. Trump's "university" proved to be a fraudulent operation, and was required to pay $25 million to his former "students." Trump's charitable foundation proved to be a fraudulent operation, which was forced to close its doors, and which led to a $2 million judgment. And now the former president's business has been found to have committed repeated acts of fraud, too.

It's worth appreciating the fact that it takes a special kind of person to get caught overseeing a fraudulent charity, a fraudulent "university," and a business that repeatedly committed fraud.
Obviously, it takes quite the stable genius to pull off the number of adjudicated grifts that Donald Trump has.

But some see him as a messenger sent from above.

If Trump is indeed delivering a message, you can count on a couple of things: 1) There's a high chance that anything he says or does is illegal, unethical, immoral, or just plain idiotic; 2) It has to benefit Trump personally in some way.

Trump Complains AI Photos' Make Him Look Fat

Donald Trump's first comments on Truth Social after the massive civil fraud verdict against him was announced are to complain about photos he claims were created with artificial intelligence that make him look fat.

Anyone that lived in NY during the 1980's knew that he was always full of --- scam artist who's lead nothing but a predatory life raping young women, pedophilia. He's a vile corrupt piece of --- whose added nothing to the planet other than misery and pain.

The people that worship him are contemptible pieces of garbage.

He exemplifies the worst qualities of humanity.

When everything is said and done, at the rate things are going, Trump is going to be a much poorer man. He can forget his desire of being listed on the Fortune 400 list. He's finding things catching up to him like never before. Being in the White House put him under a microscope and he loves attention, just not that type.

He'll squall about how unfair he's been treated, about how it's all political, about how everyone has it in for him, develop pet names for those he sees as his personal enemies, and seek media attention to claim it's all a witch hunt to prevent him from being elected as POTUS once again.

It was telling that Judge Engoron made special note that during Trump's two times on the stand, under oath, he refused to answer questions and instead went on with his typical spiels. Why did it not ever occur to him that teeing off the judge, attacking his clerk, and being a general jackass, wasn't going to do him any favors? Most know those kinds of behaviors isn't going to endear you to the judge who will ultimately pass sentence. The judge had his get back at the end and it did not go well for Trump.

He's earned very bit of his sentence.

Because Trump keeps a firehose of outrages gushing each and everyday, sometimes many fail to see the breadth and depth of his career-long wealth grift based mainly on lies and fraud. The very conscious acknowledgement of someone having been found guilty of illegally running a fraudulent school, a fraudulent charity, and for using fraudulent valuations as a continuous business practice shouldn't be followed by the thought - "Let's elect THIS GUY President of the United States."

Maybe the absolute worst thing about Trump's political legacy is the reality that in 2024 America a large portion of our society actually believes that this life-long walking, talking crime spree is the person they think most qualified to be in the White House.

How in hell do we ever recover from that?

There is something wrong, awfully wrong, with these people. Behavioral and psychological science will spend the next generation attempting to find out exactly what that is. Without these people, and without their sickness, NO TRUMP.

This is actually an easy one. Trump wouldn't be civilized in court because he has too much life experience of bullying and disruption working for him. We saw behaviors practiced throughout a lifetime played before Engoron.

Republicans, remember: You asked for this. Given the choice between a dozen solid conservatives and one Clinton-supporting con-artist and game-show host, you chose the con-artist. You chose him freely. Nobody made you do it.

Then there's the grift to make all of his supporters and the RNC pay his legal fees. That's all Trump is really.. a grifter. And 50 percent of voters may be gullible enough to fall for it.

Donald should just write a new book.. "The Art of the Scam"

OK, three are a trifecta.

Trump launches a sneaker line
www.nbcnews.com

... Former President Donald Trump launched a line of sneakers ranging in price from $199 to $399.

If anyone was waiting for the other shoe to drop in the upcoming presidential race, former President Donald Trump just did, launching his own line of tennis shoes on Saturday.

"I've wanted to do this for a long time," Trump said when he announced the launch of a sneaker line at Sneaker Con in Philadelphia.

"I have some incredible people that work with me on things and they came up with this ... and I think it's gonna be a big success," he added.

In his brief remarks at the sneaker launch, Trump indicated the line could be an effort to reach out to younger supporters, saying, "We're going to turn this country around fast. We're going to turn it around. And we're going to remember the young people, and we're going to remember Sneaker Con."

He was met with a mostly enthusiastic crowd, though some occasional boos permeated through the cheers. ...

fmr Pres Trump looks like he needs money and now is trolling, as he puts it, younger supporters, to get that money.

Unless it's to blame all of Trumpy's woes on the "corrupt Biden crime family".

No worries tho!

Trumpy and his deplorables WILL get their revenge and retribution on all these vermin judges and juries.

Oh man, dude, I think you figured out Trumps 5D Chess move to make Mexico pay for the wall. He'll start talking about moving there and they will build a wall to keep him out! It's genius! That's it I finally see what Trumpers have seen all along, "And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized." I
