It's a touchy subject for the demented orange pedo after he forced Ivanka to abort her sibling.

Trump is a weak coward who is afraid to take a stand on anything.

(I missed this thread when I started another on the topic)

... also voted to allow a proposed amendment to enshrine abortion protections in the state's constitution to appear on the November ballot. ...

Will this aspect of the ruling be a "get out the vote" aspect for Democrats?

Florida's going to get to vote on enshrining Abortion rights into our Constitution.
The bad news is it requires greater than 60% to approve it.
The good news is making that requirement 67% failed.
The bad news is women are going to suffer and some are likely going to die as a result of 6 week ban.
The other bad news is that 60% is a high threshold.
The good news is this 6 week ban is going to infuriate a lot of people, and that's not good for Republicans.
The bad news is women are going to die, Florida becomes an even bigger s**thole state, Education suffers, vaccination rates continue to decline, all under a Confederacy of Dunces.

An older poll. It will be interesting to see how the polls going forward turn out...

Poll: Over 60% of Florida voters support proposed abortion, marijuana amendments (November 2023)

... A new poll from the University of North Florida indicates majority support for two proposed amendments that would enshrine abortion rights and recreational marijuana access in the Florida Constitution. ...

Looks like the Florida SC wants a huge Democrat turnout in November, constitutional amendment on the ballot and all ...

Hasn't worked out well for the GOP in any state where choice has been on the ballot.

Yeah, probably why the decision was 4-3, with the three women on the court (who were appointed by DeSantis) voting to keep the abortion rights amendment off the ballot. They claimed that the ballot language was just too confusing for the ladies' pretty little heads.

The Florida Supreme Court has become a massive joke under DeSantis. it was conservative before, but now it's crazy. I was really surprised amendment 4 was OK'd to be put on the ballot, though the wording really could not honestly be challenged. It was crystal clear and consistent with 50 years of law and language.

Ohio Trumpers in their state house pulled the same stunt. The abortion amendment passed despite the 60% threshold.

The Ohio abortion rights amendment passed, but didn't break 60%. Results were 57%-43%, with a 50% + 1 requirement.

The GOP tried to stop it by increasing the threshold for constitutional amendments to 60%, but that threshold increase failed (same 57 to 43 breakdown). en.wikipedia.org

Doubt Floridians will be able to break 60% for abortion there, either. Too many talibaptists in Florida to reach 60% passage, IMHO, as they've been outbreeding the normals for decades. Florida is a lost cause in so many ways. Would love to be proven wrong, though.

Yeah, i think 60% is a tall order for Florida. I realize abortion rights creates massive turnout and that there are even some crossover Republicans who would support the measure, the state is just too far gone at this point as many sane people have left. It looks to be going the way of Ohio - swing state for decades veering irretrievably hard right.

Thanks for the correction about the 60% threshold failing in Ohio.

Too many states voting on amendments to guarantee a right that women had for 50 years.

"Too many states voting on amendments to guarantee a right that women had for 50 years."

You mean not enough.

Every state it's on will see a swing to the Dem side. That gal in Alabama won by 20 points. Votes crushed in Red Ohio and Redder Kansas.

The best news Dems could get would be if abortion rights were on the ballot in EVERY swing and Red state.
