Two Republican congressmen have introduced legislation that would provide the same employment and economic protections to Americans serving in the Israeli military as US citizens who get deployed to serve in the US military.

Fighting to protect the United States is directly protecting the Homeland. That should earn the benefits mentioned.

Fighting in another country's army is not directly protecting the Homeland. Indeed, that reeks more of a policy decision.

imo, this bill has misplaced aims, and looks more to be trying to make a statement than anything else.

Could not these two Republican congressmen had a similar statement without degrading those who serve the Country in our military?

That aside, the soldiers involved were serving under US direction, not a foreign country's direction.

Oh man, judging by these comments, liberals are going to have their minds blown when they realize that some of these who will get the benefits are migrants, children of migrants, minorities and other underrepresented people, etc.

This is BS. Our own country is going to hell and we have Congress critters serving other countries first. We dont have sufficient enlistees for our military. Our leaders only job should be serving Americans and making us a better country for Americans, not foreign lobbyists.
