Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, June 15, 2024

"I will say I was surprised," opened Ross Sorkin. "I spoke to a number of CEOs who I would say walked into the meeting being Trump supporter-ish, or thinking that they might be leaning that direction, who said that he was remarkably meandering, could not keep a straight thought, was all over the map, and that they ...

"this may not be any different or better than a Biden thought, if you're thinking that way."

No better than Biden?
That's good enough for Deplorables.

Trump gets confused a lot. He acts confused a lot. He is confused a lot.

The old boy is definitely away with the fairies.

Corporate CEOs have a major thing that they like as they run their business --- predictability.

CEOs do a lot of longer-term planning, and predictability eases their difficulty in such planning.

With fmr Pres Trump, the CEOs did not, and do not expect to, see predictability.

What they do expect to see is the continuing chaos that the MAGA cult seems to prefer.

They were there for an interview, he was there for the usual Cult Party.

Sounds like it didn't go well.

Let's roll tape on Dementia Donnie and the shark battery, among many many many public examples of a melted cranium.

Dementia Donnie and the shark battery

That was really weird. For one thing if your boat is sinking because the battery is too heavy, your boat designer is an idiot.

Do people just not pay attention?

Its as if they haven't seen any of his behavior for the last 8 years.

Couldn't the CEOs make sense of demented Donnie's gibberish about MIT and Hannibal Lecter?

The demented daughter-diddler is claiming it was the best meeting ever. lol

Do people just not pay attention?

They pay attention to their favorite loud voices screaming hate at them on talk hate radio AM.

They pay attention to the angry faces screaming hate at them on Faux News.

It's why republicans ended the Democratic Party's plan to provide all Americans with broadband access. Because limiting information allows republicans to control the information.

amp.cnn.com

It's also why republicans oppose public education.

Public education allows people to think for themselves and republicans hate that.

Yeah, that's a pretty good summary.

The CEOs came to the meeting looking for some manner of coherence and predictability.

What they got, instead, was the usual fmr Pres Trump rally speech, wandering all over the place.

Did he bring up sharks and batteries?

Tom Joseph
@TomJChicago
Public humiliation- Trump is going down hard from his dementia deterioration. He twice can't remember Ronny Jackson's name. Trump needs a full time caregiver to accompany him on his absurd campaign.

Sad!!

@#16

My current view is that fmr Pres Trump's age-related deterioration is mental, not physical.

And that Pres Biden's age-related deterioration is physical, not mental.

The bewilderment and schadenfreude the White House feels over McCarthy's ouster (October 2023)
www.politico.com

... People close to the president considered McCarthy a fickle and unpredictable partner. When McCarthy met with Biden in person, he typically presented himself as a sober negotiator, clear-eyed about the give-and-take of bipartisan governance. Then he would go out in public and brag about his refusal to bend on conservative demands.

On a particularly sensitive matter, McCarthy mocked Biden's age and mental acuity in public, while privately telling allies that he found the president sharp and substantive in their conversations -- a contradiction that left a deep impression on the White House. ...

Trump-Friendly CEOs Shocked By 'Meandering' Meeting

Ah, whatever. They're not going anywhere.

Anyone who thinks beyond tax cuts and reduced regulations would have turned their back on Hair Furor ten years ago.

We've seen Trump when the teleprompter goes out.

The man's an unhinged, mentally ill, obese crazy person.

Do people just not pay attention?
They pay attention to their favorite loud voices screaming hate at them on talk hate radio AM. They pay attention to the angry faces screaming hate at them on Faux News.

You are confusing CEOs and business owners/execs with hoi polloi who have nothing better to do than "pay attention to their favorite loud voices" on Fox News... or MSNBC... or eX-Twitter... or their other favorite "channels."

What's really happening: thehill.com - Scaramucci suggests CEOs backing former president have 'Trump-nesia' - 2024-06-15

|------- Jeffrey Sonnenfeld**... does not believe that CEOs are backing Trump.

"Not a single Fortune 100 CEO has donated a single penny to him, which is a break from major CEO support for GOP presidential candidates dating back over a century, going back to Taft ... all of whom regularly had 50% or more of major CEOs.

CEOs are not isolationists, protectionists, or xenophobic. Other than two or three prominent CEOs, none support Trump vocally or financially."
-------|

This election will be decided not by "Big Business" CEOs or "Big Labor" leaders, but by "never-Trump" and "never-Biden" no-shows in 6-7 swing states:

www.bostonherald.com - Double-haters on the rise: One in four voters reject both Trump and Biden - 2024-06-16

|------- The ranks of the double-haters - voters who say they don't like either major party presidential candidate - are at a historic high and make up one-quarter of the electorate, according to Pew Research. That's nearly twice as many as at this point in 2020.

Biden and Trump are taking roughly equal measures of these disillusioned voters in battleground states, with Biden winning 25% to Trump's 22%...
-------|

It's also why republicans oppose public education. Public education allows people to think for themselves...

Then you clearly don't understand why the enrollment in public schools has been declining since before COVID-19. I don't know Republicans who oppose public education - what they don't like is "progressives" vehemently opposing charter schools and parents' school choice - quite the opposite of "allowing people to think for themselves" - while educating their own children in private schools.

www.nbcnews.com - Public school enrollment falling nationwide - NBC, April 2024
Census Bureau data shows K-12 enrollment continued its downward trajectory in 2022, and experts say it's more than just declining birth rates.

www.educationnext.org - Teachers More Likely to Use Private Schools for their Own Kids

www.chalkboardnews.com - Public Teachers Send Their Own Children to Private Schools

www.nytimes.com - What Have We Liberals Done to the West Coast? - NYT, Nicholas Kristof, June 15, 2024

** Jeffrey Sonnenfeld is the "CEO whisperer" who was partly "responsible" for Trump being elected by making him somewhat palatable to "business community" and bashing Carly Fiorina just when she was "rising" in 2016 GOP primaries... then in 2020 he "whispered" to business leaders to "dump Trump" - not that they needed much convincing at the time.

I think for the 1st time in the last 20 years I may
actually watch the 1st Presidential Debate this year.
I just want to see Trump go absolutely Ape ----- Crazy
every time his mic gets muted (for exceeding time limits)
and he's left ranting and raging like a drunken uncle in
the corner. And then when they turn back on his mic, I want
to see him waste all the time allotted for the next question
raging and complaining about the last question.

I'm bringing a large bucket of popcorn...

oh that's right....his stuff is always in private where we rely on others instead of actually

seeing a dementia riddled potus every day.

sure why not ...cause that's always been so trustworthy.....( sarcasm )
