"He has a choice " does he keep Vance on the ticket?" Schumer said, suggesting that doing so could weigh down the ticket with Vance's "baggage." "Or does he pick someone new? It's his choice."

Getting him to waffle on his choice would be a minus as well. He still could win, g_d forbid, and help us all if Vance is the veep waiting for the massive coronary to coronate him king

... "He has a choice " does he keep Vance on the ticket?" ...

Given the ongoing aging problem and the continuing gaffes that fmr Pres Trump has been (and continues) to make, maybe the suggestion should be --- VP candidate Vance needs a new Pres candidate?

VP candidate Vance needs a new Pres candidate?

LOL. No matter how demented and feeble Lewzer is now, or how much worse he gets, he will never step down.

@#5 ... LOL. ...

Yeah, I was smiling when I wrote #4.

But the more I look at it, well... ya know...

Maybe there may be some substance behind it?

The elite Yankee Connecticut Bush Dynasty that attended the best Ivy League schools with all of the best connections possible in the US made a fortune with oil, but adopted this "Aw shucks I'm a regular guy from Texas" persona. Elitists attended church and spoke like rednecks. Now we see that here with J Dunce Vance, Yale Law School alumnus.

After J Dunce Vance loses this November, he'll re-write his memoirs:

"Hillbilly Eulogy: A Memoir of a Yale Law School Grad and Failed Hypocritical VPOTUS Candidate."

@#7 ... attended the best Ivy League schools ...

You mean like Gov DeSantis...
www.bestcolleges.com

...DeSantis earned his undergraduate degree in history from Yale University and tacked on a second Ivy League degree when he graduated from Harvard Law School. ...

Or maybe Sen Vance...
en.wikipedia.org

... After graduating from Ohio State, Vance attended Yale Law School, beginning in the fall of 2010, on a nearly full-ride scholarship for his first year.[27] He became close friends during Yale's orientation with future Canadian Conservative member of parliament Jamil Jivani.[28]

During his first year, professor Amy Chua, author of the 2011 book Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, persuaded him to begin writing his memoir, Hillbilly Elegy.[29]

Vance was an editor of The Yale Law Journal, and graduated in 2013 with a Juris Doctor degree.[27] In law school, Vance wrote for David Frum's "FrumForum" website under the name J. D. Hamel, in 2010 and 2011.[30][31] Although Hillbilly Elegy implies that Vance adopted his grandparents' surname of Vance upon his marriage in 2014,[32] the name change actually occurred in April 2013, as he was about to graduate from Yale.[1] ...

Good shot! DeSantis is another elitist hypocrite! And how about coward Josh Hawley caught running away for his life on video on 6Jan2021? Hawley graduated from Stanford University in 2002 and Yale Law School in 2006.

BTW: I mentioned J Dunce Vance and his up-coming memoirs already.

I'm not shooting anything.

Just reading, observing and commenting.

Yeah, that sofa thing is a non-starter, imo.

There is so much more to criticize Sen Vance for.

Why focus on some apparently made up thing?

It just shows your desperation.

John Oliver is a desperate man.

@#13 ... John Oliver is a desperate man. ...

I remain to be convinced that Mr Oliver is the desperate one in this Internet meme.

He just seems to be using the meme for laughs.

I mean...

... John Oliver says the reason you always find change in couch cushions is because "JD Vance always leaves a tip" ...

That's a great humor line, because it builds on the meme, while still respecting Sen Vance for leaving a tip.

But, yeah, the whole couch thing is not true.

Just like the AI videos the GOP is proffering.

So, this is what the campaigns have sunk to?

If you have a concern, well, I'll say, put on your seat harness, because it is only going to get worse from here....

Chuck, I disagree...let Vladamir Futon drag down the ticket.

I find it hilarious that poor slobs in the poorest states and counties think that a NY robber/baron and vulture capitalist are the guys that are "looking out for them".

Just an indictment of how the GQP has absolutely dumbed down the education system into non-functioning status.

He leaves more than the tip.

Trump won't drop Vance because Vance or any other VP pick for Trump does not matter. This isn't like McCain/Palin where you had people saying John is ok but his date to the party is CRAZY! When it comes to Trump, there's no such thing as an undecided voter. There's no demographic saying I was considering Trump but I'm not sure now because of Vance. If Trump does drop Vance then Trump will look weak and he hates that idea. He would also be sending the signal that he sees his new VP as somehow being less qualified to run the country. That person, no matter how strong their record is, would not be able to escape the narrative that they are the runner up. Expect them to be labeled the vice-vice president nominee.

Actually believe it or not I am sure there is that segment of the vote. It may not be big but big enough to make a difference in swing states.

Since Trump is old and Vance could end up being president someday, Vance on the ticket could motivate some voters who might otherwise be complacent about voting to actually get out and vote. His various anti-women stances have earned him a creepy weirdo flag. #Keep Vance Out of Our Pants!

Menstrual survelliance/period police? How ---- weird is that? I never thought I'd live to see the day that such a misogynistic invasion of privacy would be advocated by a man who is running to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. Like I said, he's a creepy, creepy weirdo.

- Menstrual survelliance/period police?

Yep... and how can Gracie support that?

Oh, wait... that's more attention than that thing has seen in... never mind!

I'll just get into trouble!

Palin was a gift. So was Mr. Potatoe-head. They're kinda bad at this. I don't remember Romney's pick. His own party almost killed TFG's.

He needed to find an abject obsequious, hungry, sycophant who would never challenge the furer's authority and he found it in Vance, a creepy, weird, uncharismatic, nobody who eagerly sells his soul and comes with a huge pile of billionaire Thiel donation cash.

Paul Ryan. Oddly enough a white guy. He probably had binders full of them.

Except at this point is isn't just Drumpf's choice. The nominating is done, the convention is over, you can't just "oops, my bad" on a ticket once that's happened. It's not irrevocably locked in, but it's more complicated that the orange menace saying "you're fired" now.

#2... Agree. The thing I really HATE about Democrats, is they can't keep information to themselves to save their lives.
I love the party, 'I hate the need to gossip that seems integral to running in political circles'. Which is why
I try to stay as far away from the political apparatus and scene as possible.
