Does donOLD really think the Democratic Convention is going on this week AND the next TWO weeks?

What is wrong with donOLD that he is not campaigning?

This is just low energy old man vibes.

Someone get him the early bird with extra ketchup.

@#1

I've noticed that fmr Pres Trump seems to be staying off the campaign trail lately.

Could the crowd-size issues at his rallies be a determining factor in him resting at Mar-A-Lago instead of campaigning?

A lot of people are saying that Trump is quiet quitting.

Between the naps and the pudding and the diaper changes, it's amazing he has time to do anything else.

Or maybe the campaign donations just aren't rollin' in like they used to.

His staff coulda told him to slow down . . or run out of money.

And he's still likely to lose any income Trump Org and his golf courses.

People donate money because they think he a winner. When he doesn't look like a winner any more, they stop donating. And that includes his billionaire friends as well. They don't become wealthy by throwing good money after bad.

Trump figures if Biden was able to beat him while campaigning from his basement then Trump should stand a good chance running from his ballroom.

It looks like Trump is giving up on presidential ambitions and that he's going to declare a health emergency any day now.

Another opinion is that he could be scared off by that assassination attempt.

OpEd: Old Man Trump Cites Made-Up Polls to Excuse Low-Energy Campaign
newrepublic.com

... Donald Trump tried Thursday to explain away his apparent staycation amid a tightening presidential race, but unfortunately for the former president, his numbers just didn't add up.

Ever since Trump's rally in Atlanta this past weekend, the former president has been lying low at home. Meanwhile, his running mate, J.D. Vance, has seemingly been sent to follow Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz across the country, to Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

During a press conference from the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, Trump was asked about his apparent pause in public appearances. He didn't take it well.

"You have not had a public campaign event for nearly a week now; tomorrow you'll be in Montana, which is not a swing state," said one reporter. "Some of your allies have expressed concern that you're not taking this race seriously, particularly""

"What a stupid question," Trump interjected.

"At a time where there is enthusiasm on the other side. Why haven't you been campaigning this week?" the reporter asked.

"Uh, because I'm leading by a lot and because I'm letting their convention go through," Trump said, implying he had taken a step back before immediately contradicting himself. "And I am campaigning a lot."

Trump then claimed that he'd kept busy working on "commercials that are at a level that anybody's ever done before." ...

He hates the coverage Harris is getting & thinks only he can fix it. ...

Tim Walz's Approval Rating Surges as JD Vance's Falls
www.newsweek.com

... Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's approval rating has surged since he was announced as Vice President Kamala Harris' running mate, while Republican Donald Trump's pick, Ohio Senator JD Vance, has seen his fall, according to a poll.

A YouGov survey conducted on August 8, two days after Harris announced Walz as her vice presidential pick, found the governor with a net favorability rating of +11. That was up from a +1 net favorability in another YouGov survey conducted in late July.

Vance, on the other hand, has seen his approval rating drop since Trump announced him as his running mate on July 15.

The Republican's net favorability was -6 in a YouGov survey conducted between July 15 and July 19. It dropped to -9 in another survey conducted between July 22 and July 25.

A poll conducted by Marist Poll for NPR and PBS between August 1 and August 4 also had Vance's net favorability at -9 (34 percent favorable, 43 percent unfavorable). This was 5 points lower than in the same poll in July. ...

His campaign thought this would be a walk in the park.

Trump DIL, Lara, stripped the RNC of field operations and Hispanic outreach.

His campaign has few field offices in swing states compared to Harris'. In GA, Harris' campaign has 30+ with 600 paid staffers. Trump has 0. Trump's campaign is left to rely on volunteer voter outreach by different MAGA-orbit groups, and that effort isn't going well.

He's being way outspent in paid media (probably because campaign funds went to pay tens of millions to attorneys and other grifts), and he's being swept away online by a tsunami his opponent unleashed, paid and organically.

He's even getting hammered on Truth Social.

Against Pres Biden, that might be true.

I still give Pres Biden a lot of credit for strategically waiting until after the GOP convention before he announced he would step down.

The GOP convention, and the results of the convention, was all about targeting Pres Biden.

The GOP got played by Pres Biden.

He's using this time to sack all his underperforming advisors and shuffle his defeat Biden team that has no clue. Needs a different staff and skills as his present team is dismally flailing. He is smelling certain defeat. It's the downside of surrounding yourself with sycophants and family advisors. They will all gladly lie to you and tell you you're God when you actually are failing. He needs the race to be close enough for his decertify votes in swing states scheme to work. Is it too late to sack Vance?

Part of the equation may be that #45 is genuinely spooked that another disaffected white outcast with terrible complexion and a legally-owned assault rifle will make another attempt at ventilating him in one of the firearms free-for-all Red States. Last July the Dotard was lucky in Butler, PA, and the USSS consequently advised him to avoid outdoor rallies.

#21 | POSTED BY ALTERNATEFACTS AT 2024-08-11 02:51 AM | REPLY |

Maybe. I think the stable genius made a bigly mistake. After the Biden debate disaster and the failed assassination attempt, Trump and his Traitor Tots (and Musk and Thiel) thought he would coast to victory. So, they immediately came out with the b.s. claiming that it's "unfair" for a doomed candidate to drop out and be replaced after the primaries are finished. So, now they are in a spot. They are amoral enough to do something this hypocritical, but it would be a bad news cycle or two and there isn't much time left before people start voting.

More "5D chess" from the world's greatest strategist.

Wanna know why Trump isn't holding many indoor rallies?

According to the Center for Public Integrity, he stiffed venues in

Lebanon, OH
Mesa, AZ
Erie, PA
Green Bay, WI
Eau Claire, WI
Tucson, AZ
Burlington, VT
Spokane, WA
El Paso, TX (over $500,000)
Billings, MT
Minneapolis, MN
Sioux City, IA
Missoula County MT
Coastal Carolina University, Conway, SC

Albuquerque, NM had to send Trump's overdue bill of $211,000 to a collection agency in 2021.

As of 2020, La Crosse, WI is still waiting for over $13,000 for multiple visits.

And that's not including bills from cities who provided security at his events at a cost in the many thousands of $'s.

So, cities across America are refusing to rent arenas to him because of his continued practice of stiffing anyone he can.

Dang.
Trump's shot himself in the foot on the indoor rally thing, and if he holds outdoor rallies he's worried someone else will shoot him in something other than his foot. He's double-damned by his own actions.

I gotta admit I'm enjoying his self-created problem.

The only venue Trump has left for sure is Judge Merchan's courtroom on Sept. 18. That's probably good for one or two news cycles. Especially since he's already warned us that he plans to appeal the verdict itself ~ not the sentence.

We might want to prepare ourselves for Judge Merchan's decision. It likely won't be prison or anything else that would smack as election interference. I'm thinking strict supervised probation with some heavy fines for the 11 times Trump violated the Judges gag orders.
