Finally getting political ads here in Houston, the signal it was a real contest going down. Ted Cruz ads beat the same drum, Colin Allred thinks you are racist. The Allred ads are all about abortion and marshalling support from women. Send in Tay-tay to rally for him and it's a wrap.

The anti-Cruz ads also showcase him jumping on a plane and fleeing Texas during the power outage. About time these ran around the clock.

The fact Ted "Ugly Wife" Cruz keeps winning in Texas is baffling.

How stupid are Texans?

"How stupid are Texans?"

Have you been there?

Texas is a real mix, and the fact that Cruz is running for his political life sort of attests to that. But the goober strain runs mighty strong.

The last time Texas was remotely close to a "two party state", it was 1990.

Last time Texas was Blue was the Good Ol' Days of Anne Richards, Molly Ivins, and Barbara Jordan.

From 1870 until 1973, Texas had a ban on carrying weapons in public. And no concealed weapons until 1995.

Sure the internet and cable era has brought about some great political analysts, but the last decade has been screaming for Molly Ivins and Hunter Thompson.

Yeah, what I imagine should not affect the raw polling data.

You could read line 1 lol

The Morning Consult poll, conducted between Sept. 9 and 18, places Allred " a moderate North Texas Democrat " a point ahead of Cruz with likely voters, 45% to 44%. Allred's lead is within the poll's margin of error, however.

I mentioned this the last time Cruz was running for reelection:

Friends in Dallas who were big Reagan/Bush Republicans - she's an attorney, he a captain with American Airlines - were absolutely turned off by Trump and Cruz in particular.

She told me people in a 2 mile radius upscale area of Dallas were equally disgusted by Trump and Cruz.

When Cruz ran the first time, there was a sea of Cruz signs.

Last time, there was only one in their area. Everyone took their dogs to pee on it.

This is what Trump and his ilk have done to their share of votes among educated, former Republicans. "Former" thanks to Trump.

PS - I was going to Dallas on music business in 2012. She offered to take me to the then new 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Great. Then, she said, "and when we leave there we can go to SMU and visit the George W Bush Presidential Library.

I replied, "I'm sorry, but I have a strict policy of only reliving one tragedy per trip."

She didn't speak to me for awhile LOL Their formerly Republican bastion is a sea of Allred and Harris signs this time.

Trump (and Cruz) did that.
