Dotard Calls for One Really Violent Day of Policing

Former President Donald Trump on Sunday called for "one real rough, nasty" and "violent day" of police retaliation in order to eradicate crime "immediately." The remarks " delivered by Trump at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, just 36 days before the election " did not amount to a new policy proposal, according to a Trump campaign official. "One rough hour " and I mean real rough " the word will get out and it will end immediately, you know? It will end immediately," Trump said. Trump has a long history of endorsing police violence, having said that police reaction to the racial unrest in response to the murder of George Floyd in 2020 "was a beautiful thing to watch. In a 2017 speech, he said: "When you see these thugs being thrown into the back of a paddy wagon, you just see them thrown in, rough. I said, Please don't be too nice.'"

I think he's signallinf his MAGAterrorists that if he loses this election he wants the most violent uprising in the U.S. since the Civil War. Hell we have MAGAsheriffs telling MAGAterrorists to make list of homes displaying Harris signs.

Ooh, he was "floating it," alright.

If it was met with praise, it would have been a new policy initiative. Because it wasn't, it was "in jest."

For starters, a huge problem with the proposal is that the police are not the Judaical branch of government that determines guilt or innocence, with the innocent until proven guilty right for the accused.

So, fmr Pres Trump is effectively admitting he plans to throw out the Constitution by declaring people guilty and inflicting his level of punishment without a proper trial.

As your backquote cites, it was the Trump campaign that tried to walk it back, not the source of the quote.

To me, that looks like a campaign that still is struggling to stop its candidate from speaking about what he intends to do, should he win the Oval office.

Trump already got one of those. It was called January 6th and yes there were Rogue cops who knowingly and willingly attacked the Patriotic police officers willing to lay down their lives in defense of the capitol building.

Maybe.

To me, you always have an underling do the negative tasks like walking things back. If it was received well, Trump would have been the outward face grabbing all the credit.
