What, specifically, prompted the resignations?
Were the police criticized for bad behavior, and they didn't like that?
Details mare lacking.

No problem, as now the dem can promote the idea of replacing them with social workers....

Was that the issue that caused them to resign?

Without some sort of explanation from the councilman, there's nothing there but the cop's side and I have no reason to believe that bit of "he hurt our feelings" nonsense.

#5 In any other circumstance an entire department quitting and the narrative would be that you have to investigate the councilman as there is no way that many people leave if he isn't doing something wrong.
In this case it's the police though so you immediately frame it as "he hurt our feelings"...
Reason #1457 that Kamala lost.

"Say if someone were stabbed or shot or whatever. Without police enforcement, they would have to come from the sheriff's office in Bennettsville," Groom said. "We're talking 10 or 15 minutes and someone could possibly expire in that amount of time. Without police enforcement, it's definitely a bad situation."
Ay caramba!
Sounds like Chicago...I'd just move.

Huh? The pigs don't provide lifesaving care. If anything, they're more likely to shoot somebody than the average person.
I'd feel safer without that street gang roaming around.
The fire department didn't quit. The ambulance service didn't quit. Only the worthless garbage pigs quit, apparently because their worthless little fee-fees got hurt. Sounds like we're doing something right with our campaign to demoralize the scumbag pigs, and we need to keep at it.
Hey pigs! Make a city safer, remove yourselves from the population!

You have not a clue as to what ---- you are writing here. I live in a country where the gangs have taken over lots of our cities and guess what? It is horrible. I always hold law enforcement to task whenever they do wrong but you blame them for all the social ills in society? You obviously have never talked to one or sat through a briefing before they go into the streets. I have and I can tell you they have your best interests at stake believe it or not. I also had my relatives murdered and raped and who the hell do you think will bring those that did this to justice? You and your crack team of know it alls?

Uh the former sheriff essentially said that in his comments. The whole force of 4 people resigned. I have seen this in a couple small towns around here. 3 to be exact. The police themselves up to no good, get called out for it and suddenly most or all resign.

KKKops get ample pay increases, to the point their governing body cannot afford to pay them. Ergo, all the KKKops resign.

The town doesn't employ any firemen as it is all volunteers and I don't believe they have an ambulance service as there are no hospitals in Marlboro County.
But yeah the cops probably are corrupt as is the city council.

Why do you think the police resigned?
I am still trying to find out the specific reason(s) why they resigned.
No one seems to know or be able to post the reasons.

S.C. town's former police chief takes new job after he, entire force resign www.wmbfnews.com
... The former police chief of a South Carolina town now without a police force has a new job. Records from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy state former McColl Police Chief Bob Hale is now an officer with the Bennettsville Police Department. Those records, obtained Tuesday by WMBF News, state his first day with the department was on Monday. Bennettville Police Chief Kevin Miller told WMBF News on Tuesday that Hale was hired as the department's new first sergeant of training. Miller added that Hale interviewed for the job more than a month ago. "We did not conduct this process any different from any other hire we've made for the department," said Miller. Hale resigned as police chief in McColl just over a year after taking over the role. All four of the town's other officers followed suit. In a public statement, Hale accused McColl leaders of creating a "hostile work environment" and making cuts to department funding. A now-former police investigator with the town also backed up those claims when speaking with WMBF News last week. McColl Mayor George Garner did not comment on the allegations but said the town would carry on in the officers' absence. ...

I agree.
But, I suspect she was caught up in the headline, and not the gist.
In any case, kudos to RCade for promoting this article to the Front Page.
It is a quite interesting story to follow.

I knew what the back story was. I also knew that that town leaned liberal. I could've posted other links for the full story and backstory, but some sites, no matter how factual are frowned upon.

#31...
So the data doesn't back up what you think, but the broad brush stereotypes do and your believing those stereotypes is your defense?
Gotcha.
I guess all the Trumpers that think all illegal immigrants are rapists and murders are in the right then? I mean whose fault is it that so many people believe this?

What does it mean when individuals be they governors or mayors etc tout they are THE RESISTANCE and are willing to threaten Trump and cabinet members and USA electorate.
I believe it means they need treated like they treated Americans who the DOJ charged and attacked on Jan 6 2021 and for years later. Those who threaten need to be held fully to account in the same isolation they did to others. Some Dems think they are immune.

I don't know, do the honest, law abiding immigrants accept the lawbreakers? Do they cover for them? Is that part of the everyday life of immigrants, being rapists and murderers? Cops accept and encourage their own to lie and cheat as a matter of culture. Even the so called "good" cops capitulate to the corruption of their cohorts. Not sure honest immigrants are covering for anyone.
