... Key House and Senate lawmakers are demanding that top federal law enforcement officials immediately brief them about mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey and New York as the White House downplayed any potential threats to national security or the public. House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said Thursday he expects to receive a classified briefing about the drones soon, saying it's "a quandary" and he's "anxious to find out" more. On Thursday afternoon, John Kirby, the White House spokesman on national security matters, told reporters that the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and state and local law enforcement agencies "have not been able to corroborate any of the reported visual sightings" of the drones. Upon reviewing images of the sightings, law enforcement officials have concluded that "these are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully" and that there have been no confirmed drone sightings in restricted airspace, Kirby said, adding that they have uncovered no malicious activity. A White House National Security Council official told NBC News when asked about the drones, "We have no evidence at this time that these reported sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus." ...

These sighting have just recently appeared.
What has changed in that lawful operation of aircraft that these observations have not been previously reported??
Or, are these drones being operated legally, and Homeland Security is tacitly admitting it cannot do anything because the drones are being operated legally?
Curios stuff here.

If they are manned then they are not drones?

@#4 ... If they are manned then they are not drones? ...
Good point.
My guess is that we are still in, I'll call it, the WTF? stage.
imo, if this were just some airplanes being misidentified, the explanations would be a lot easier and more forthcoming. And, also, those airplanes have been over New Jersey for years, decades even. Why this sudden influx of airplanes?
imo, the "airplane" explanation doesn't work, even given the usual Thanksgiving travel season..
To that end, all we seem to have so far are conflicting explanation attempts.
If this were some minor thing, why would the White House even bother to acknowledge it existed? If it were so minor, the White House would leave it to the states and locals to explain.
That leads me to wonder if the national security agencies have a clue about what is happening.

... U.S. Rep. Chris Smith said a Coast Guard commanding officer told him a dozen drones closely followed a Coast Guard lifeboat near Barnegat Light and Island Beach State Park in Ocean County over the weekend. ... At this point, I still wonder whether this is just yet another social media hysteria, or if the drones are something real.

We're being told there's nothing to worry about at the same time they tell us they don't know who is flying them or why or what is on-board.

They fly without lights and from what I know the FAA has rules about that.
Obviously they are not too interested in following any requirements established by the FAA.

One,
"No its not, every video I have seen the "object" had lights in accordance to FAA regulations. No more, no less."
If they are flying in the dark, would you actually know it's there or be able to see it?
Seems like of course every video you've seen with a drone is lite up. It shows up for the video because it has lights.
I am hearing they have been seen going dark in mid flight.

According to what I have read, the FBI and Homeland Security are saying they are working with local and state agencies trying to determine the origin.
Unless they are all working together to suppress information, at this point they don't know.
Mostly likely someone knows something but like so many things in the government the public is being kept in the dark.

It wasn't long ago that these "drones" would be called UFOs. And before that "flying saucers". And before that a sign from God to repent.
My explanation is best: we elected an insane man to power and the stress is causing hysteria.

Zed,
"stress is causing hysteria."
You mean Trump being elected is causing mass hallucinations?
Actually, these are nothing like the typical UAPs (UFOs) reported by witnesses and photographed over the decades.
These drones are behaving like drones and not the typical UAPs that are reported.
#31 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2024-12-14 11:10 AM | Reply
I don't think I've read anywhere people associating UAPs with signs from God to repent.
I'm sure you can find some spiked kool-aid drinking nutjobs who believe just about anything.
UAPs are a different category.
The last 5 years even Congress is taking notice that America may be at risk of something entering our airspace in an instant we can't even chase.
If you want to get up to speed about the UAP topic, read Luis Elizondo's book he just released.
These drones are just not the same thing.
#32 | Posted by BillJohnson at 2024-12-14 11:18 AM | Reply
Luis Elizondo's book
All he can think to say is that UFOs are alien scouting missions prior to interstellar war.
It doesn't stand up to logic. Neither do these UAP thingies in NJ.
They are most likely psychological. In a week no one will be talking about them. Which will also be psychological.

There was mass hysteria during the first Donald Disaster. Over vaccines, as one example. People were frightened enough to let themselves die. Now that's damned hysterical.
Then there were those millions of people who were deathly afraid that they would no longer be able to wipe their asses. Hence, toilet paper shortages. Hysterical.
Many, many people go through even calm days being right on the edge.
Witness MAGA. UAPs are nothing. Wait until your people get back into Reptoids and witchcraft.

"Wait until your people get back into Reptoids and witchcraft."
You actually are hitting on something that some people are a little afraid of regarding UAPs and reported sightings.
One particular person you might want to read more about is Robert Bigelow, the founder of Bigelow Aerospace, who had contracts with NASA.
It is being reported by respected sources that he was given off-world materials from crashed crafts for analysis.
He has an interest in paranormal activity in addition to his other interests.
He once owned Skinwalker Ranch, which is a bizarre topic in addition to UAPs.
We can only hope this phenomenon is as benign as you seem to think.

NewsNation Reporter Raises Alarm After Seeing Drones Firsthand: More Sophisticated Than I Ever Imagined' www.mediaite.com
... NewsNation investigative correspondent Rich McHugh admitted in a Friday report he did not "pay much credence" to concerns about drones flying over New Jersey, but after seeing it firsthand he's thinking a little differently. "I gotta be honest here. You know when this story first came out a few weeks ago, as a resident of New Jersey, as a journalist, I didn't pay it much credence," he reported. "I thought it would turn out to be a bunch of pranksters and this would all be over by now, the experience I had last night, however, changed the way I feel about this story completely." McHugh said was he saw was "more sophisticated than I ever imagined." Reporting from Red Bank, New Jersey, McHugh showed footage of a large drone with multiple bright lights attached. He said in an hour he witnessed "40-50 drones." One was still flying behind him during his report. The journalist said the drones were about eight to 10 feet wide and all carried bright lights. "Definitely not an airplane, but what was it?" he asked. ...

Danni,
I'm not suggesting these drones and UAPs being witnessed for decades are connected but in both cases I am 100% sure a LOT of information is withheld from the public.
I've read opinions such as a fear of creating panic and not wanting to appear threatening to whatever it is, are 2 possible reasons our government has handled this matter in secrecy.
Plus the idea we are gaining technical advancements from reverse engineering perhaps they don't want to disclose.
These drones hopefully have a much simpler explanation such as a foreign adversary spying on the US and we're too caught up in red rape and politics to move on it quickly.
