I read the Times article this morning. The petition was made in 2022, not that they won't try again if they think they can win.

I think the problem is that so many MAGA don't remember what polio actually is or what it can do.

Just like they don't remember what an economic depression is or what it can do.

Millions of MAGA, who are not already sick and broke, will end up sick and broke.

Good enough for FDR, good enough for RFK.

Hey, FDR is always rated in the top two of the greatest presidents. Maybe Trump is hoping a resurgence of polio will make America great again!

In a country where wild polio is extinct, the vaccine causes more vaccine-induced polio than it could eliminate. Any wild polio in US is brought here by migrants, who are not required to be screened nor vaccinated.

When was the last case of polio in the United States?
Recently the disease made headlines again when a case was detected in the United States in July 2022: an unvaccinated 20-year-old man was diagnosed with a type known as "vaccine-derived poliovirus (VDPV)."

I suspect any wild polio virus in the US could also be brought in by most any traveler who is not screened nor vaccinated and not just migrants. Given that the number of travelers coming to the US vastly outnumbers the number of migrants, that is a much more likely source of wild polio virus cases in the US. Such was the case of the July 2022 incidence in the US:

You don't understand what a vaccine is. I wish that I was surprised. One can only guess, with horror, what other fundamental facts of life you don't comprehend.

You don't like migrants, fine. Just for Christsakes get your kids vaccinated, if any of them still live..

There's two definitions of what a vaccine is now. One prior to 2021, and one after 2021. Can you spot the difference?

You people so desperately want to be right on the subject of disease because if you aren't you're just a collection of Medieval jackasses.

"When was the last case of polio in the United States?"

So. There was a "last case"? And polio was eradicated from America.

That would mean that the vaccine worked. (Even if a small percentage did not)

Unless you think that polio somehow eradicated itself.
