Just a random thought or two.
Words have meanings
Waste and Fraud have meanings.
They are being used here to obfuscate.
Like are they REALLY talking about waste and fraud?
If it is authorized by congress, how is it waste? Redundant spending? Ok, that should be addressed. Politically unpalatable spending? Well, the Executive branch does not and should not have the power to unilaterally declare that waste. It was approved by congress, thus NOT waste. If they have an issue with an expenditure, take it up with congress.
If it is not authorized by congress, it is fraud and already a crime.
There are and were overseers who looked to make sure there was no fraud, i.e. the money was going to where it was legally allowed to go to. We regularly hear stories about misappropriation of funds that are criminally pursued. Less so in the future where public corruption is less of a thing and the DoJ isn't pursuing white collar crime.
It strikes me that waste and fraud have zero to do with the goals of the DOGE bros. That literally makes no sense. And their actions are patently illegal
