Worse than that. It's Trump selling out our nation and its interests for personal gain. While the GOP cheers him on.

On the eve of his election in 1968, Richard Nixon secretly conspired with the South Vietnamese government to wreck all-party Vietnam peace talks as part of a deliberate effort to prolong a conflict in which more than 20,000 Americans were still to die, along with tens of thousands of Vietnamese and Cambodians.

Funny how this bot only gets the surface level stuff.... perhaps it's a language and or cultural barrier thing. Or a SW glitch in it's programming.

Or being bitten by a rabid dog as a child.

It talks about the propaganda, but not about the fact, THE POINT, that Russia is getting all it ever really wanted, besides the old SU back... the breakup of the Western Alliance.

That's correct. Vietnam was different. Good of you to notice.

We are not risking American lives here. It's the Ukrainians who choose to do the heavy lifting. All they are asking for is the resources to defend themselves, and in the process take out our second biggest international threat.

Trump may kiss Putin's ass but Zelinsky is not a Republican boot livking coward like the Republicsn members of Congress. He has said he will not trade territory for peace. I suspect Putin needs pesce at least as badly as Zelinsky now that Ukraine is able attack quite deep into russia and even hold territory there. Yes scumbag Trump might stop supplying Ukraine with weapons but some leaders of other NATO nations have indicated that they will supply them. Surrender Monkey Trump doesn't get to control Zelinsky and, actually, it would be great for the world to clearly see how little influence Trump has over foreign leaders who see him clearly as a dunce.

More of the same is clearly not working. We are dumping tens of billions of dollars and are fighting a proxy war against a nuclear power with no cap on spending and no real endgame. All the while, our biggest geopolitical threat, China, is watching our military deplete valuable resources with no end in sight.

People continue to be killed. Rebuilding costs continue to grow. I am for any deal that ends the wanton killing and destruction that enables Ukraine to retain a good chunk of its land-mass as sovereign and that ALSO carries a massive stick should Russia pick up where it left off a few years from now.

"Let's just continue to plow forward with no real plan" doesn't work for me and I've been saying this well before Trump won the election.

It's depleting Russian power and wrecking their economy. So they can't lend a hand when China tries something similar in five or ten years. And the stick you speak of is meaningless as the US turns it's back on its allies and it's previous promises.

Handing Russia trillions of dollars in Ukraine's mineral resources is only encouraging them to go for a repeat, no matter how much Trump/Vance try to make themselves look tough as they give Putin everything he wants and more.

Putin is a fascist. A kleptofascist to be more accurate. But a shrewd one. His KGB training was successful but he did not count on Ukraine fighting back nor on NATO getting larger. As a result, Russia had at least 2 million educated, prime working age men leave Russia to avoid conscription and another 1/2 million men died in combat or have lost so much mobility they might be forever unemployed. Russia's rouble is tanking and inflation rampant with borrowing rates over 20%.

But Putin had faith in Trump and Trump certainly seems ready to deal with Putin and give Putin a lifeline. What sort of quid pro quo will Trump want from Putin? Something fishy & no good. What will Putin ask for in return? Any ideas? When two mafia dons make deals, everyone loses.

Both Ukraine and Russia are corrupt AF, again if Europe wants to fund that crap go for it. This was has shown that the Russian Bear is a paper Tiger when it comes to fighting and this is going to end in a stalemate. So either we end it and get both parties to the negotiating table to save additional lives; or we cut funding and again let it be Europe's problem.

Even assuming that they are equally corrupt, only one of them is trying to recreate the Soviet Union. The government that we spent over $1 trillion per year to keep in check.

Funding Ukraine's defense is pennies on the dollar to make sure Russia doesn't present that threat again during our lifetime.

Either way, not in our interests to help him. Particularly when pretty much the entire Western World, and much of the non-Western World, is already unified against Russia. This isn't a light switch, where we can flip coalition defense on and off on demand.

But anyway, this is all moot. Trump was on Team Putin ten years ago and nothing has changed, other than the GOP's willingness to sell out NATO and our allies to help Trump get his payoff and make sure they aren't primaried. A shame there are very few principled conservatives left who will voice their opposition to Trump's surrender to our second biggest international threat.

Trump is no Neville Chamberlain. Chamberlain was an intelligent, accomplished, self-made man, and a patriot, albeit one who made a terrible error in judgment. He didn't try to stage a coup when the British people voted him out in disgust.
