Are you actually bragging about this?

You're not actually going to get on an airline anytime soon, are you?

I'm sure I don't have to explain.

While the man's wife said she recognizes the need for "a lot of cuts", she felt "this is not the one that you think will happen to your family."

Too bad for you if you need to contact the IRS for any reason. There won't be anyone there to answer your call or letter.

Not a big change, I always had trouble contacting.

I've given up on Government response, and helping for anything (even FAA). I just call my accountant. Just another unaccounted for burden for the middle class.

I hope they make a AI version, but the FAA is still using 1970s computers so I doubt it will ever happen in my lifetime.

My guess would be that those laid off are mainly those who were hired in recent years to assist in processing and auditing the tax returns of the wealthy.

Remember the outcry from the GOP when they were hired? Lies about the newly hired IRS agents using guns against citizens.

This is just another tactic for the GOP to lower the taxes paid by the wealthy.
To the detriment of the working class.

Interesting. I suspect there will be a lot more people cheating on their taxes then in the past four years.

So, they are hiring over 80,000 new employees and laid off 6700 employees? The IRS should be just fine.

One of the laid off IRS employees, Robert McCabe, told NBC10 he went into work on Thursday and had issues logging in. He and his coworker sat around and waited for instructions. He then received the layoff letter shortly before 11:30 a.m. McCabe said he had been a supporter of President Trump prior to the layoff.

"You know when he talks about government waste and all that, yes, I'm behind it," McCabe said. "I believe there is a lot of stuff in the government that needs fixing. And that's part of the reason why I actually wanted to work for the government, actually. To help change. Help change the things that are wrong in the world, you know? I thought that someone with his business acumen would have come in with a fine-tooth comb and actually found it instead of coming in with a wrecking ball and destroying people's lives for no reason."

Tax cheats all to get help?
Seems like honest people are the ones that would call.
I've called to get help, particularly on my K-1s.

"Not a big change, I always had trouble contacting (the IRS)."

You haven't tried in the last few years, I'm guessing. After over a decade of steadily deciding service, the IRS finally had started...you know...ANSWERING QUESTIONS from taxpayers on how to correctly address their tax issues.

Service improved enormously. I mean going from 15% answered calls to 80% answered calls. Plus, the high-end division paid for itself, probably within the first week.

Now, all that progress will be flushed down the toilet. Because Trump.

And just a reminder: they're not slashing because of waste, fraud, and abuse. They're slashing to pretend to justify the coming $5 Trillion in tax cuts for the world's wealthiest. They'll cut a half-trillion, only to GIVE AWAY ten times as much. And remember: EVERY RENEWED TAX CUT means newly-borrowed money. Every. Single. Penny.

I notice the regular Republican deficit hawks are nowhere to be found.

" Found the tax cheat"

What a riot.

Not only do tax cheats never bother calling the IRS; finding out the rules is the last thing they're interested in.

It all boils down to a very simple question: should a taxpayer trying to find the correct answer be able to get it from the IRS?

I vote YES.

Also Trumpy should always get two bowls of ice cream and you only get one.

I have noticed over time that whenever the tax code gets "simplified" I get screwed just a little bit more.
