Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 29, 2025

When the ambulance arrived in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia two years ago, an angry EMT got out and barked at the crowd, "Who called this in?" Standing next to my cameraman and above the prone body of a shirtless soul bedecked in boils and not moving, I said, "I did." He didn't say a word, he looked at me, then down the street at the dozens of strung out bodies, then back at me as if to say, "Look at all this, what do you want me to do?" I had no answer.

"Trump is trying something new."

Boaz doesn't know how Trump's plan for the homeless of going to play out. Nobody really does.

But that doesn't matter.

According to Boaz, Trump is doing it, and that makes it right.

"Trump is trying something new."

New? I trained at a hospital that had been an asylum from 1895 1976. The conditions were horrific.

Locking up the homeless isn't a good idea. Giving them a chance to rehabilitate themselves is. Including but not limited provide them with a tiny house to call their own would help greatly.

Nonviolent offenders who are imprisoned are significantly more likely to recidivate (i.e., reoffend) violently.

Again, you liberals aint doing shit but making things worse.

Newsome actually spent 20 BILLION and still couldn't fix SF or LA's homeless? What's the problem?

#8 | Posted by boaz at 2025-07-29 01:48 PM | Reply

BOAZ wants more violent criminals. Justifies the police state he's been begging for.

One of the main problems is that Corporations don't pay a living wage to their employees; they only pay what they have to.

The hand of the Market, the Invisible Hand, is an Iron Fist.

You get right on that. Stick 100 drug addicts in tiny houses right next to each other and see how that plays out for all concerned.

Or maybe stick them in adjoining smaller houses inside a big building. With bars on the window until they rehabilitate themselves. Because junkies DGAF about anything other than getting high. And some libs expect the rest of society to tolerate it as fine and dandy until they set up a community next door to their home.

"With bars on the window until they rehabilitate themselves."

I love how firmly you miss the mark here.

It's obvious you've spent years thinking about this as a problem that can only be solved by making a certain type of person... just go away.

We have Oxford houses here. They are large homes that house drug addicts right next to residential communities. It does work if you try it.

No it doesnt Laura. That's wishy washy bullshit.

And even a tiny home to call their own is expensive. It has to be earned and not given.

The comments on this thread by some liberals just shows how clueless they are.

The first thing that came to my mind too when I read about this was Trump is essentially reviving the old system of dealing with the mentally ill. Hopefully we'll learn from the mistakes of the past.

On the plus side, people will finally get a chance to get off drugs and perhaps get the right medication to help them even if it is against their will.

If they are mentally ill they won't have to live on the streets.

In the long run, perhaps cities may find themselves being able to attract businesses and customers.

This is a win/win proposition.

Who is losing? The parasites who get paid millions of taxpayer dollars feeding off the the misery of mentally ill drug addicted people virtue signaling pretending they are being helped.

"Trump is essentially reviving the old system of dealing with the mentally ill."

Not sure it's his to revive...

Those are old State systems which were kept afloat with Federal dollars until Reagan ended that three generations ago.

Now you stupid twats want that back, expect instead of any pretense of medical treatment, you're just sending them to camps.

Frankly, I suspect there's a lot of functional mentally ill drug users who will object to this idea because it hits a little too close to home.

Can we get some names here.

Salvation Army?
Red Cross?
The aforementioned Oxford House?

Is anyone surprised these Trumpers advocate "treating" drug use and mental illness with incarceration?

They think the War on Drugs just didn't go hard enough.

Snoofy,

Take off your blinders and look around at the filthy cities democrats have created.

What do you think should be done that hasn't been tried.

Some people are simply not able to help themselves and its really cruel leaving them on the streets.

If you would think about it, instead of this knee jerk partisan reaction, you might be able to have a bit of compassion.

Should we wait until they commit crimes and go to prison?

I'm not going down a rabbit hole with this topic. I said all I'm going to say.

Snoofy,

There are plenty of real parasites.

Salvation Army and Red Cross will continue to operate and help people.

Bringing that up is a dumb deflection.

Enough of this....I'm not reading more of this thread because I don't want to read the disappointing miserable comments I see from people.

So it's really this simple:

Nothing else has worked, send the homeless to camps. Like Palestinians exiled by Israel.

That's actually your solution.

Where does Trump find the Constitutional authority to tell States to do anything through an Executive Order?

That seems like a pretty big breach of Federalism. Republicans must not think so...

Ooh! We get to have our families and loved ones live next door to houses filled with junkies? Where do I sign up for that experience?

Democrats should make this their next campaign platform, right next to pushing males into women's sports. Should bring those working class voters back in droves!
